Pooneer is a kind of plant says Agathiyar.

என் மனதிலே அறிந்து கொண்டேன்

அப்பனே பரமன் அன்று பணியலாமே

Agathiyar says that he has come across a tree named pooneer and in it he saw a radiance coming in it, along with it he says that he neither found a fruit nor a flower, but he says that he found leaves and seeds. He also adds that he have asked about this pooneer tree to many of them he came across but none of them knew about it and thereby he decided that it was blessing of the Lord Siva.
