The hidden secrets of the Siththars poems

Author: தோழி / Labels:

In the previous post, we have seen the Paambaatti Siththar’s poem which gives better insight regarding the true state of godliness. In this post, today we will see one example, which gives approach to understand the true meaning of Siththar’s poems.

"செப்பரிய மூன்றுலகும் செம்பொன் ஆக்குவோம்
seppariya moonrulakum sempon aakuvoam
senkaththiraith thankathiraaich seithuviduvoam
ipperiya ulakaththai illaamar seivoam
engal vallapam kandu aadu paambe!”

For the above Paambaatti Siththar song, the following description is depicted in one of the recently published book, which is available with me.

There are three lokam which are “boolokam”, “paathala lokam” and“suvarkka lokam”. It is an unending process to describe the glory of the above three lokam. We will change that glorious lokams into shining gold i.e, pure gold.

The above meaning might look correct when reading the poem overview. But, Siththars poems have hidden secrets and it is an unique art to understand the true meaning of poem. This is possible only with guru’s blessings and teaching. In that sense, the accurate meaning of above
poem is given below.

Rechak, purak and kumbhak are three unique aspects in Vaasi yoga. Kundalini will originate and shine if, we unite the above three in proper manner. The shining light of Kundalini looks like dazzling gold and is warm. Siththars who excel in this Vaasi yoga can grasp any amount of heat and make their body remain cool.

“Karima” which is one of the asta siddhi is possible when, one get excel in Vaasi yoga. Through the power of karima, one can annihilate any gigantic structure, even can destroy the earth. Paambaatti Siththar says to Kundalini snake, ’Siththars are more powerful and strong. Realize it and dance snake’. (In his songs we can notice that, aadu paambae, was thw word mostly used which literally means dance(v) snake).

When they attempt to release books for commercial purposes they miss out to share all these details. I am not sure if it is done purposefully or it happened by mistake. I am not putting forth this information to point out anyone. It is just an attempt of sharing my views.

Siththar’s rationalism

Author: தோழி / Labels:

State of Godliness is possible to one, who follows the way shown in the Siththar’s poem. Moreover, we cannot see any imaginary information neither praising quotes nor the decorative lines in these poems. There might be possibilities of some exceptions in some poems which belongs to later period.

According to Siththars view, godliness is the well stabled higher state of mankind and that state can be achieved through the regular practice by any person. Many poems can be quoted to prove this statement.

Siththars were highly disappointed with the ignorant fake practice of spirituality on the basis of Godliness state and god. Most of the critics have ignored and rejected these statements and prevented it from reaching the common public. However, some remnants poems are eternal and still present beyond the ages.

In that sense, we will see the following poem of Paambaatti Siththar in this post.

"பூசை செய்தாலே சுத்தபோதம் வருமோ?
poosai seithaalae suththapoatham varumoa?
poomivalam seithathanaar punniyam undoa?
aasaiyatra kaalaththilae aathi vasthuvae
ayaidalaam enru thuninthu aadaai paambae!”

Paambaati siththar questioning us regarding the basis of spirituality as, how one can get benefit from the poojas performed on god as daily basis and searching virtue on temple of various places?

One cannot find the state of godliness in form of mankind nor the blessings from certain places. It is eternal thing present everywhere and shapeless structure which can also be felt and seen inside everyone.

One cannot achieve this eternal state by performing pooja neither roaming to find the virtue nor reading the religious books. Paambaatti Siththar says, one can feel and attain this high state by destroying their selfishness and start living with magnanimous thoughts.

Screen of snow! Screen of mind

Author: தோழி / Labels:

The human mind is a collection of experiences. These spread all over our memory and try to control us. The conflict of these experience between the two extremes, good and bad, is what we assume as concience. This conscience only rule our thoughts, actions and ideas.

The one with clear thoughts remains as the best person and the one with confused thoughts remains as the loser. Though the mind is responsible for the growth or fall of an individual, the reason behind it lies in the above mentioned experiences.

Paambaatti Siththar explains the same in a simpler way in the following song.

"சூரியனைக் கணட பனி தூர ஓடல்போல்
sooriyanaik kanda pani thoora oadalpoal
sontha panthanj sinthapari saththa thalaththil
sooriyanaik kanduthari siththae anbudan
akalaamal patrith thrdanthu aadaai paambae!

(Paambaatti Siththar)

Snow is thicker like smoke. Through that anything cannot be seen clearly. This is known as the snow screen. But this screen of snow will disappear when the sunlight appears.

Our mind is surrounded by desires and illusions. We have to realize the Supreme Being in mind and get rid of all the desires and get away from illusions, like the snow that gets disappeared due to the sun light.

Like the snow that gets disappeared due to the sunlight, the mind should also realize the Supreme Being and get rid of the virtual screen that surrounds the mind says Paambaatti Siththar.

Tree with fruits

Author: தோழி / Labels:

There is nobody beyond comments. Everyone is being subjected to reviews and criticisms at some point of time. The consequences can be listed such as it impacts on your mind or on our body. Paambaatti Siththar has explained how the people with pure heart resolve these issues in the following song.

"காய்த்தமரம் அது மிகக் கல்லடி படும்
kaaiththamaram athu mikak kalladi padum
kanmavinai kondakaayam thandanai perum
vaaiththa thavam udaiyavar vaazhbavar enrae
vasthuth thiruvadi thozhuthu aadaai paambae!”

(Paambaatti Siththar)

It is believed that the tree with fruits will be punished by hitting with stones. It means that the tree which has got nice flowers and fruits on it will be hit with stones to get that fruits.

Likewise those with the blessings of guru and attempting to realise themselves may also need to face punishments and protests. Also the people with pure heart serving the society and serving the god are no exceptions for this. The sorrows can cause nothing to these people. He says that they will be in a higher state where they are clear about all these issues.

The tree which is being hit by the stones even after getting hit continues to give fruits. Likewise the saints and sages who face all these problems will also continue to shower their blessings says Paambatti Siththar.

Which is joy? Which is happiness?

Author: தோழி / Labels:

If one gets fame, money and good name and also has got people around him to realize it, then they feel that it is the biggest happiness. We human consider this as the greatest happiness and make our life move towards all these happiness. Some of them attain this state of happiness but for some people it remains as a far peak state which they could never attain. In this way only the people are leading their lives.

Paambaatti Siththar says that all these are not the state of happiness but realizing the supreme being is the most happiest thing and also he says the way of attaining it in the following song.

"பேசரிய நவவாயில் பீற்றல் துருத்தி
paesariya navavaayil peetral thuruththi
perungaatru ulpugunhthathaal paechu undaachae
eesannilai ariyaarukku inhthath thuruththi
erimannir iraiyenrae aadaai paambae!"

(Paambaatti Siththar)

The goldsmith’s use an instrument named bellows which they use to blow air to the furnace. When it is operated, it takes the air from outside and blows the air through a hole to the furnace, so that the flame burns brightly. Paambaatti Siththar says that the human body is also similar to this.

There are nine holes in our body. Each one of them serves a purpose individually. Only if these function properly, the person remains alive. For all these, fundamentally we require oxygen. By handling the breath properly by doing the rechak, purak and kumbhak, we shall attain vaasi yoga. When the vaasi yoga is being done, the kundalini will also be attained and will result in realizing the Supreme Being.

But the human do not realizing this and go behind the unstable happiness and Paambaatti Siththar compares them to the dead body burning in the cemetery.

The way of attaining the birthless mukthi

Author: தோழி / Labels:

Mukthi - salvation/final emancipation

The journey of human life which begins from the moment we take birth continues till our last breath. In this journey, the path that we choose decides our consequences and its effects. Paambaatti Siththar narrates how to choose that path in the following way.

"தசநாடி தசவாயு சத்த தாது
thasanaadi thasavaayu saththa thaathu
saarntha marakkappal athuthaththi veezhumae
isaivaana kappalinai aega vellaththil
ennaalum oattath thuninthu aadaai paambae!"

(Paambaatti Siththar)

If the waves increase, then the ship in the ocean loses its control and sinks into the ocean. But the ship which travels in an ocean without much of waves will reach to the destination safely.

Likewise if this body which is made out of ten tubular vessels (dasanaadi), ten vital airs (dasavaayu), seven types of constituent elements (saththa thaathu) are not placed towards the Supreme Being then it will fall on the ground like a ship drowned in the ocean.

Like the ship travelling in a waveless ocean, if the body and soul are placed towards the supreme being then the bitrthless beatification state can be attained says Paambaatti Siththar.

Ten tubular vessels (Dhasanaadi) -

Idakalai, Pingalai, Suzhimunai, Pooda, Gaandhaari, Aththisinguvai, Alampudai, Sangini, Guru, Kanni are ten tubular vessels.

Ten vital airs of the body (Dhasavaayu) -

Abaanan, Pranan, Samaanan, Udhaanan, Viyaanan, Naagan, Koorman, Giridharan, Devathaththan, Dhanunjayan are ten types of vital airs.

Seven constituent elements of the body (Saththa Thaathu) -

Rasam, blood, bone, skin, muscle, brain and sperm are seven constituent elements of the human body.

Guru is everything!

Author: தோழி / Labels:

Our ancient moral book have positioned the guru after the mother and father. God also comes after them only. The vedas tell the same as “Guru saatchaath parabrahmam thasmai sree Guruvae namaha”.

In the siddhalogy, it is not necessary to describe about the greatness of the Siththars at all. Because they are the origin and end. The Siththars strongly believed that there is nothing superior to the guru. At this point we should recall the proverb, ‘any art without a guru is of waste’.

Paambaatti Siththar explains the greatness of the guru in the following way.

"சாற்றும் உடல்பொருள் ஆவி தத்தமாகவே
saatrum udalporul aavi thaththamaagavae
thaanam vaanginira engal sarguruvinaip
poatri manamvaakku kaayam moonrumporunthap
pugazhnthu pugazhnthu niraadaai paambae! "

(Paambaatti Siththar)

Body, object and soul all these have come from the supreme being. The guru only is the form of that supreme being. We should praise and do honors to that guru. Paambaatti Siththar also says that we should realize whatever guru told and act accordingly.

As far as my knowledge, this type of celebration is rarely seen in the songs of the Siththars. I feel that as since it is about guru he brought such a celebrating state into this song.

In the next post I shall meet with another song.

(Paambaatti Siththar)

If a human who has been under the control of the five sense organs lose his life, then he cannot re enter into the same body once again. Once lost is lost. Though a person takes re-birth, he is dead only according to his friends and relatives.

But the one who realises them inspite of the attractive forces due to sense organs is known as the jeevan mukthar. They are beyond the birth and death. Realize that they are the stable people says Paambaatti Siththar.

These jeeva mukthars are only called as Siththars. They are beyond the death. They attain jeeva samadhi. Also they can attain jeeva samadhi* at various places simultaneously. Most of the Siththars call this as one of their theurgic play.

In the next post we shall see another song of Paambaatti Siththar.

The unstable pleasure

Author: தோழி / Labels:

Most of the Siththars have preached to their disciples that all the happiness that are attained by the external life are unstable, which leads to the cause for rebirth and hence we need to identify these unstable pleasure and stay away from them in order to prevent ourselves from the re birth and attain a state of beatification. Now let us see a song told by Paambaatti Siththar.

"மணக்கோலம் கண்டுமிக மன மகிழ்ந்து
manakkoalam kandumika mana magizhinthu
makkaamanai sutraththoadu mayangi ninraai
pinakkoalam kandupinnum thuravaa vittaal
pirappukkae thunaiyaam enru aadaai paambae!”

(Paambaatti Siththar)

The marriage which brings two hearts closer is always a happy beginning only. But does the happiness stay forever? This is the question to the people who say, ‘I have finished the marriage of my children and got grandchildren, have an own home with garden, a vehicle, all the wealth and I am leaving happy!!’.

By seeing the dead body, realize that one day we will also attain this state. If we do not retire from all these unstable pleasures and seek for a blissful state, then again again we will take rebirth, says Paambaatti Siththar.

An easy way to attain mukthi!!

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

Mukthi - salvation/final emancipation

Our Siththars believe that based on the good and bad, one does in his life time, he takes re-birth and faces all the corresponding results either good or bad. It is also considered that this cycle continues until one faces the results for all the sins he performed. To get relieved from all these sins and lead an entirely happy life is known as attaining mukthi.

Attaining mukthi refers to a very high state of achievement. One can attain this state only after a very hard practise and attempts. If we attain success in all the eight stages of yoga, only then we can attain mukthi. We have already seen about it in the previous posts.

Paambaatti Siththar in one of his song has told about a way to attain mukthi. Here is the following song,

thiralaana poariloosi thaeddal poalmuththi
sikkaathu thaesaasaara thesigar thammaal
arulaana moolaguru avar seyalaal
aanantham kanoam enru aadaai paambae!

(Paambaatti Siththar)

In a war field, where people are fighting with their troops, if we drop a needle and try to search it we may not find it. Like wise it is not easy to attain mukthi. Though we make many hard attempts and practises we cannot attain mukthi very immediately.

Also we need to possess the blessings of all the Siththars and the blessings of guru only we can attain mukthi. Also with their great blessings of them, celebrate the joy says Paambaatti Siththar. The information that one can attain mukthi with the blessings of a guru is a very new one to all of us.

Note:- The greatness of the Paambaatti Siththar's songs are that they are very simpler and easy that anyone can understand. But the sorrowful fact is that we have got only 129 songs of Paambaatti Siththar.

The untrue body

Author: தோழி / Labels:

Do you know about the puppet show, rite? A person behind the screen directs and the puppets dance on the stage. The human life is also like this only. If the person who directs us stops doing it then the show ends up, the human life is also similar to this only says Paambaatti Siththar in the following song.

"மரப்பாவை போலொரு மண்ணுருச் செய்து
marappaavai poaloru mannuruch seythu
valamaana seevanenum soothiram maatti
thirak kullirunthasaip poana theerntha pozhuthae
thaegam vizhumenru thelinthaadu paambae"

(Paambaatti Siththar)

Also the human life is unstable and will destroy.

"சீயும் மலமும் செந் நீரும் நிணமும்
seeyum malamum sen neerum ninamum
saernthidu thurnaatramudaik kudamathu
udainthaal naayum nariyum paeyum kazhugum
namathenru thinnum menraadaai paambae"

(Paambaatti Siththar)

This body that has been grown up by taking care will wish for everything it sees in the world until the soul resides in it.

If life/soul goes away from the body that comprises puss, blood, urine, excretory then the dog, fox, eagle, devil think that it belongs to them and start sharing it.

Tell now. Is this body yours?? Else it belongs to the dogs and foxes.. questions Paambaatti Siththar as slapping on the face.

In the next post we shall catch up with another information.

How to know that Kalpa has been attained?

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

There are so many varities of Kaya kalpa, if I start teling about all those Kaya kalpa then it may lead an endless posting. In my previous post I have told about a few kinds of Kaya kalpa.

After eating the Kaya kalpa, to identify that kalpa has been attained take Cissus quadrangularis and on eating it will taste sweet as sugarcane says Siththars. Also they have told that for those who have attained Kaya siddhi, whatever they eat nothing will happen to their body.

"தித்திக்கும் லட்சணம் தான் பிரண்டை முந்தி
thiththikkum latsanam thaan pirandai munthi
seytha pinbu en makkaal kaelu kaelu
maththikkum paasanamellan thinnu
malajalamum ponnaagum vayirathaegam
moththikku moonrudambil thaeganthagam
uththamanae sembaagu moadunthooram
aththikku soothamodu kanthagaththai unnu
ammammaa thaegamellaam kalangumaachchae"

By following the methods above said and identifying that one has attained karpam, eating arsenics, mercury, brimstone their body will glow like a bright light. Also the grey growth of hairs and shrinking of skin due to aging, the skin peels off and becomes goldish and there will be no yawning, tireness and sleep. All these are the signs to identfy, says Siththars.

Like this the Paambaatti Siththar has also told about the benefits he attained on eating the kalpa.

"காலனெனும் கொடிதான கடும் பகையை நாம்
kaalanenum kodithaan kadum pagaiyai naam
karpamaenum vaalinaalae kadanthu vittoam
thaalamaththil pirappinai thaan kadanthoam
tharparam kandoamenru aadu paambae"

With another information I shall meet in the next post.

(Paambaatti Siththar)

Those who have got lots of things will never carry any of them after their death. All the earthly pleasures are false imagination only. Really the one that has no destruction is the supreme being only. For the one who trusts the supreme being and follows it will never get destructed. The one who does not distract their minds for this earthly pleasure and who always think about the god will attain the stable fame says Paambaatti Siththar

Human life is like a mirage.

Author: தோழி / Labels:

A deer running in a desert on seeing a mirage, considers it as water and runs for it. Likewise, we human consider this earthly life as real and get immersed in happiness. But the people who resolve the puzzles and take their life a step ahead donot get lost in the earthly life. They beleive only in the eternal truth. The deer which thinks the mirage as water body and keeps running behind it, the mirage also runs forward as it chases it and finally the deer falls tired without getting the water.

Even the human life also becomes like the deer that considers the mirage as water. Even before they know what the eternal truth is, their life comes to an end. This idealogy has been illustrated in a very simple words by Pambatti Sidhar.

Here is the following song,

Paambaatti Siththar

Author: தோழி / Labels:

Paambaatti Siththar was born on Tamil month ‘Karthigai’ (equivalent to Nov 15. – Dec 15. approximately) and his birth star was ‘Miruga Seeridam’. He was the disciple of Sattai Muni. These were said about Paambaatti Siththar by Bogar in his book Bogar 700.

Siththars say that the Kundalini power in Pelvic Pleus (Mooladhara) as sleeping snake. The raising of the Kundalini power towards Suzhimunai is compared with the raising of the snake in the anthill. Most of the songs written by him were about this symbolization of raising Kundalini power and hence he was called as Paambaatti Siththar. Paambu, in Tamil, means snake.

In his songs, we can notice that aadu paambe (literally means, dance(v) snake) was the word mostly used.

Paambaatti Siththar paadal, siththaraa roodam, paambaatti siththar vaithiyam were the books said to be written by him.

The cave in which he did austerity was said to be still found at Marudhamalai.

His sepulcher was said to be in Virudhachalam.
