KINGDOM OF SITHTHARS

We have found evidences that the Muslims are prevailing in Tamilnadu since seventh century. We have found many evidences that shows “soanagar”, ''thulukkar”(refers to Muslims) in the sculptures.

Yacob Siththar in his book has told about the methods of preparing rasamani and the benefits that could be attained on worshipping it. In this post we shall only see the benefits told by him.

"பார்த்தியே சூதமது கட்டிப் போகும்

paarththiyae  soothamathu kattip poagum

பதிவான இருபத் தொரு மணிகள் செய்து

pathivaana irupath thoru manikal seythu 

வாத்தியே தமரிட்டு நூலில் கோர்த்து

பைத்துமே இப்படிக்கு தொழுதாயானால்

பதிவாக நபிமார்போ லிருக்க லாகும்

He says that, once the mercury is solidified it has to be made into rasamanis and pierce holes in them and tie it up with the aid of thread. Keep this in hand and keep chanting the kalimah, “Bismillah Rahman”. If you keep doing this for three times a day along with prayer, you will also become a member of nabis.

This is also an example to highlight the greatness of the rasamani.

Mercury is of liquid form. To make it into solid, the modern science has discovered so many ways by spending a lot of money and found methods that spends lot of money.

But our Siththars has discovered so many simple techniques. It is our mistake only for not realising about it.

The initial stage of the Alchemy technique is the method of solidifying the mercury. There are so many methods to do this. We can make use of these techniques as per our needs.

Making the mercury into solid, with it rasamani and rasalingam could be made. After converting it into the form as told by the Siththars and the rasamani could be worn. It can be kept for pooja also. This would lead to many good results says Siththars. The rasalingam is solely meant for doing pooja only. By performing poojas to it, all good will happen says Siththars.

In Siththars language the thurisu i.e., Copper sulphate by putting pudam (process of purifying by refining), the resultant ashes has to be grinded along with Dodonaea viscosa leaves and the juice that is obtained has to be mixed up with the filtered mercury in the ratio of 2:1 and grinded in a mortar this will give a juice. The juice in the semi-liquid form are to be made in to the shape of lingam or solid ball. This method which I have told in a simple way is not that easy to make, it requires lot of time and patience and some money. This entire method could be achieved by people who have got lot of experience in it.

Recently I have followed the above told method under the guidance of a guru, and has prepared a rasamani and a rasalingam.

I have attached the images of the same.

I wish to avoid the mails regarding rasamani. The notion of this post is only to share the information and share my views. It do not have any other notion. I request all of you to understand the same. Also have a look at the following you tube video.

The series about the alchemy has become little big. Hence I thought of getting back to it after a span of time. At this point I thought to put forth my view about the alchemy this post. 

The alchemy is definitely a rare art. If this is practised with a systematic way  by following a step by step procedure like recognizing, practising  planning, putting into action then the best results could be observed. Even today the procedure of making the metal by alchemy is prevailing.

The Siththars have used or developed this great technique for the medicinal purposes only. They have used this technique for medicinal purposes like strengthening or not losing the capacity of every single organ or part of the body.

Even today in the practise of the siddha medicine, to make various kinds of powders, red lead, tablets, the most experienced siddha doctors they use the artificial metal preparing techniques only.

One of the part of the technique of alchemy is only the metal formation. Their limits are endless.

Even today the powerful, Dhandayuthapaani who is blessing the entire Pazhani is made of nava paashanam only. This nava baashanam is also a technique of the alchemy only. Comprising the paashanam (arsenics) as a strong metal  is only called as nava paashanam. For those who tell the alchemy as a lie or cheating, for them the Pazhani god is only the best answer. 

Those who are interested in this rare Alchemy art made by the Siththars has to transfer the knowledge to the society. Keeping this as a notion many researches has to be made.

Anyone who is reading this, if they attempt to move a step ahead to make researches regarding the alchemy techniques then that is the best result for my thought of writing this post.

Konganavar says that Parasivathi Rasamani makes the intelligence glows even more brighter and the supreme being would be visible like a light. He also tells that human can know about their life before birth i.e., about the  previous birth and life after the death i.e., the re-birth.

Nadha Vaedhai is making the mercury into rasamani and making the saaranai to it and making it hitting it to form like the shape of a small flat thick piece and if the sound that is heard on hitting is so clear then it turns into gold. If we change this as Parisa Rasamani and show in front of brick, hard stones, mud then Rasamani could make these things into gold says Konganavar.

Hence from the words of Konganavar only we understand the greatness of the rasamani that could be formed by following a correct procedure could attain anything.

Konganavar says that if we keep this Atchaya Rasamani on things like money, food, grain then as we keep on taking it would be coming endlessly.

tholaiyaatha kavuna moadunj

சூழ் மணிக் குணத்தைக் கேளு

soozh manik kunaththaik kaelu

அலையாத மனது தானு

alaiyaatha manathu thaanu

மகண்டத்தை அடுக்கக் காட்டும்

magandaththai adukkak kaattum

நிலையாத சமாதி யெல்லாம்

nilaiyaatha samadhi yellaam

நிலைக்கவும் நேர்மை காட்டும்

கலையாத உமிழ் நீர் வாங்கி

Konganavar says that if we keep this Kevuna Rasamani in mouth and keep our mind focused and think then immediately we can fly around all over the Universe and also the samadhi could be attained immediately and if we keep this in mouth and keep swallowing saliva then Kaya kalpa could be attained says Konganavar.

Konganavar says that if we take the Kamadhenu Rasamani whatever we think will come true and happen in front us without any obstacles and also he adds that only after preparing it and making use of it and attaining benefit out of it only he is saying this. 

போக ரசமணி (Boga rasamani)

"கண்டபின் போகினிப்பாம்

kandapin poaginippaam

கடுமணிக் குணத்தைக் கேளு

kadumanik kunaththaik kaelu

தாண்டிய புஷ்ப மாம்பை

thaandiya pushpa maambai

தணித்திடு வாசமெல்லாம்

thaniththidu vaasamellaam

ஒண்டிய கட்டில் மெத்தை

ondiya kattil meththai

உறவாகும் பெண்கள் சூழ

uravaagum penkal soozha

கொண்டிடும் போகம் பண்ண

kondisum poagam panna

கொடுத்தி டும்பாரு பாரே

koduththi dumpaaru paarae"

Konganavar says about the Boga Rasamani that it could give the smell of the beautiful flowers, smelling products, bed, cotton mattress and the girls with whom we have relations.

சந்தான ரசமணி (Santhaana Rasamani)

"பாரு நீ சந்தா னத்தின்

paaru nee santhaa naththin

பருமணி மார்க்கம் கேளு

parumani maarkkam kaelu

வாரு நீ துண்டு துண்டாய்

vaaru nee thundu thundaai

மனிதரை வெட்டிப் போட்டு

manitharai vettip poattu

சேரு நீ குளிகை காட்டி

saeru nee kulikai kaatti

செனதிலே பொருந்திப் பேசும்

senathilae poruththip paesum

காரு நீ மணி யினாலே

kaaru nee mani yinaalae

கடும் யோகா சித்தியாமே

kadum yogaa siththiyaamae"

Konganavar says about the Santhana Rasamani that if a human is cut into pieces and then kept together again, and if this rasamani is shown, then the body parts get united and get back life and starts talking. Also he adds that because of this rasamani the benifits of the hard yoga could also be attined.

I will tell the greatness of Soruba Rasamani, if we keep it in mouth then the body glows like a flame of burning camphors, like a lamp that lights up brightly. Also anger, desire, the heart's wishes, ego all this would be gone. All this could be attained with in minutes says Konganavar. He also adds that,

"சித்தியாம் ஞான சித்தி

siththiyaam gnana siththi

சிறந்து வாஇத்தான் முன்னே

siranthu vaaiththan munnae

இத்தியா மறிய மாகில்

iththiyaa mariya maakil

எளிதிலே ஞானம் வாரா

elithilae gnanam vaaraa

யேத்தியே நோக்க நோக்க

yaeththiyae noakka noakka

வெளுக்கவா சனையாற் கேட்டு

velukkavaa sanaiyaar kaettu

பத்திய மனமும் விட்டு

paththiya manamum vittu

பட்டம் போலாடும் காணே

pattam poalaadum kaanae

காணிந்த மணியைப் போட்டால்

kaanintha maniyaip poattaal

கையிலே சிக்கும் போதம்

kaiyilae sikkum poatham

பூணிந்த மூல நாதருக்கு

poonintha moola naatharukku

பொருந்திய நந்தி சொன்னார்

porunthiya nanthi sonnar

வாழ்நந் திஎன்னக்கு சொல்ல

Beacause of this Soruba Rasamani we can attain wisdom and yogic theurgy and by doing it systematically perception could be attained very easily.There is no other way of attaining this easily. If we make Soruba Rasamani properly and put it in mouth and see through the mind's vision then we can see the previous birth relations and the earthly pleasures would disappear else we would just be wander like a kite as souls between the earth and the sky. The method of preparing it was told by Nandhidevar to Thirumoolar. He says that he knew that method told by Nandhidevar by the grace of his guru Bogar.

Rasamani is most powerful. Rasamani could be formed for any kind of purpose. The way how we control the mercury to a solid, and what saaranai we add to it, based on this it would react.

Right from the way we make it into solid and give the appropriate features to it, accordingly it will act. The preparation of rasamani of this kind has got many information related to it.

Konganavar has told that eight kinds of powerful rasamanis could be made and has also told the way of doing it. In this post I shall just share about the kinds of most powerful rasamani.

1. Soruba Rasamani

2. Kamadhenu Rasamani

3. Boga Rasamani

4. Santhaana Rasamani

5. Atchaya Rasamani

6. Kevuna Rasamani

7. Parasivaththi Rasamani

8. Naadha Vaedhai Rasamani

We could know about their features and the method of preparation from his songs. We shall see all those in the upcoming posts.

Mercury, a mineral, is only called as rasam. They say it as the property of Lord Siva. The liquid form of this rasam is converted into solid form and used by the Siththars.

This process of converting the rasam into solid form is the first step of the Alchemy. The one who knows the process of converting the rasam into solid form is blessed by god. He must have the grace of the navagrahas (nine planets). He is the one who has got the capacity of becoming the Alchemist. Others should treat him equal to the Angels, says Yugimuni.

"இருந்து பார் சூதத்தை எவ்வண்ணத்தாலும் 

irunthu paar soothaththai evvannaththaalum

இருக்கினவன் தேவனடா இடுக்கமில்லை

irukkinavan thaevanadaa idukkamillai"

- யூகிமுனி (Yugimuni)

"ஆண்டகை தன மோதிரம் அடுத்த பொருளெல்லாம்

aandakai thana moathiram aduththa porulellaam

தீண்டளவில் வேதிகைசெய் தெய்வ மணி கொல்லோ

theendalavil vaethigaisei theiva mani kolloa"

- கம்பர் (Kambar)

We can keep on saying like this. There are so many benefits that could be attained by this kind of rasamani. Those benefits could be categorized into two types. 

One is that it could be beneficient to the people wish to attain the wisdom. The other category of benefits could be attained by the people who enjoy the earthly pleasures.

Firstly we shall see about the benefits that the people who enjoy the earthly pleasures.

If we stitch this rasamani into a garland and wear it around neck, the three basic cause for the diseases bile, phlegm and paralysis, all these three would be maintained in equal levels in the body. Hence any disease related to these three will not come.

Also the bad effect of the nine planets, the effect of the bad sprits, woodoo, will not cause any impact.

Lightning, thunderbolts, change of seasons and the poisonous animals, all these will not come near those who are wearing this rasamani.

Now let us see the benefits that the people who try to attain the wisdom would get.

Naturally, the rasamani has got the capability of absorbing anything. Those who try to attain the wisdom will know what will be the result, if the strength of a particular element is mixed with the rasamani.

The strength of 9 planets, 9 gems, 9 poisons could be gained by the rasamani, by following the Saaranai technique and by keeping it in the mouth and practicing yoga will help to attain the wisdom.

Along with this they could make the Kekana pill which makes the body to raise up and float/fly in the sky.

Like this the rasamani has got so many benefits that could be attained based on the way we use it. The Siththars have told out those techniques very openly so that all the people would benefit.

மாநேன்ற முதுகுதனில் வைத்திட் டாக்கால்

மயமாகப்பா லுந்தான் கறக்கா வாறே

This script says, “When you draw milk from the cow, place the Rasamani over the cow. The cow will stop giving milk. As you take Rasamani away, cow will draw milk again.”

This is the finest and easiest way for checking whether Rasamani is real or not.

சுரிங்கிடச் சூதம் கட்டும்

The above script says, “Listen. I will say an easy way to prepare Rasamani. Mix the extracts of Thaali and Vishnukiranthi (Evolvulus alsinoides) with mercury and if you heat it, mercury will solidify as Rasamani.”

“முத்தான சூதத்தைக் கரண்டியிலே விட்டு

muththaana soothaththai karandiyilae vittu

முதிந்து நின்ற செந்தூர மாரையிலைக் கிட்டு

muthinthu ninra senthoora maaraiyilai kittu

காட்டான சாறதனைப் பிழைந்தாயா னால்

kaattaana saarathanai pizhainthaayaa naal

ககனம்போற் திரண்டுருண்டு மணியுமாகும்

kakanampoar thirandurandu maniyumaagum”

- போகர் (Bogar) 

The above script says, “Take the mercury in a spoon. Put the thurisu senthooram (red oxide blue vitreol) in the herb aarai ilai and squeeze it over spoon. Mercury will change as Rasamani.” 

“காணும் சுத்தம் செய்த சூதம்

kaanum suththam seytha sootham

கட்டவே நீகேளடா

kattavae neekaeladaa

பூணு மஞ்ச ணாதிலை

poonu manja naathilai

பிழிந்த சாறு சுருக்கிட

pizhintha saaru surukkida

வேணு மிரண்டு நாழிகையில்

vaenu mirandu naazhigaiyil

மெழுகு போலுருண்டிடும்

mezhugu poalurundidum.” 

The above script says, “Place the purified mercury in stove and add the extract of manjanaathi (Morinda citrifolia). If you heat it , mercury will change as Rasamani in 48 minutes.”

These are the easiest methods to prepare Rasamani. 

There is one more important thing to reveal about Rasamani. In genreal, there are many fake Rasamanis available in the market. Then how to find whether the Rasamani is real or not? Siththars have said a solution for this too.

- திருமூலர் (Thirumoolar)

The above script says, “Listen. There is a method to remove the wastes from mercury. Take the crystalline salt equivalent to mercury and mix with the extract of kumari (Aloe barbadensis). Grind it with mercury for three days and take the purified mercury by cleansing it.”

This is one of the easiest way to remove defects and malignancies from mercury said by Thirumoolar. Konganavar too mentioned the same method to purify the mercury.

“உப்பது பலமும் நாலு

uppathu palamum naalu

உயர்ந்தி டும்சூதம் எட்டு

uyarnthi dumsootham ettu

கப்பதுக் கல்வத் திட்டுக்

kappathu kalva thittu

கலந்து வார்குமரிச் சாறு

kalanthu vaarkumari saaru

செப்பது யரைப்பா யப்பா

seppathu yaraiyappaa yappaa

சிறந்துடன் மூன்று நாள் தான்

siranthudan moonru naal thaan

அப்புய கஞ்ச தோஷம்

appuya kanja thosham

ஆறொன் றும்போகும் பாரே

aaron rumpoagum paarae”.

- கொங்கணவர் (Konganavar)

Konganavars’ script says, “Take four palam* (140 gram) quantity of salt, mercury, extract of kumari (Aloe barbadensis) and grind it in kalvam* for three days. You can see that seven malignancies would have been removed.”

In next post we can see how to build Rasamani using this purified mercury.

*palam - 35 gram

*kalvam - It is kind of a roller, which was made out of stone, used by Siththars for grinding.

Siththars have said that there are eight types of malignancies and seven types of sattai (dust) in the mercury.

“உண்டீனங் கெளடில்யம் ஓதும நவர்த்தம்

 undeenang koudilyam oathuma navarththam

சண்டத்வம் பங்கோடு சங்காரம் - விண்ட

sandathvam pangoadu sangaaram - vinda

பளுசாற்ச மலத்வம் பன்னுசவி ஷத்வம்

palusaarsa malathvam pannusavi shathvam

விளுமெண் ரசதோடம் வேறு

vilumen rasathoadam vaeru.”

In the above script, it has been said that undeenam, koudilyam, anavarththam, sangaaram, sandathvam, panguthvam, samalathvam, sabishthavam are the eight types of malignance. 

The mineral dusts mixed with the mercury was called as sattai by Siththars. The seven types of sattai are naagam, vangam, akkini, malam, vidam, kiri and sabalam. 

Therefore, it is clear that Mercury can't be used in it's original form. We have to purify it before using. How to purify the mercury? The purification of mercury is the process of eliminating defects and malignancies from it.

Kaaram, sootham, punniyam, karpam, saamam, vinneer, vinmarunthu, rasam were given as the names for mercury by Siththars. We could know it from the following script of Siththar in which they have coined mercury with secret notations.

 “காரமே சூதம்புண்யம் கற்பமாஞ் சாமஞ் சத்து

 kaaramae soothampunyam karpamaa(nj) saama(nj) saththu

சூரியப கையாஞ் சாதிரு த்திரன் துள்ளியீசன்

sooriyapa kaiyaa(nj) saathiru ththiran thulliyeesan

வீர்ய ஞ்சூழ்ச்சிநீராம் விண்ணீர் விண்ம ருந்து

veerya (nj)soozhchineeraam vinneer vinma runhthu

சீர்பெறு மிரத மென்று செப்பி னார்ரொப் பில்லாரே

seerperu miratha menru seppi naarrop pillarae.”

There are many scripts in which Siththars have praised about the mercury. The great Siththar Bogar, in his book Sapthakaandam, said about the five types of mercury.

“ஆறியே சூதமஃ தை ந்துவித மாகும்

aariye soothama thai nthuvitha maagum

அதன் விபர மேதென்னி லறையக் கேளு

athan vibara maethenni laraiyak kaelu

ஊறியே ரசமென்றும் இரசேந் திரமென்றும்

ooriyae rasamenrum rasaenh thiramenrum

உற்றபா ரசமென்றுஞ் சூதமென்றும்

utrapaa rasamenrum soothamenrum

மீறியே மிசர கமென் றைந்து மாச்சு

meeriyae misara kamen rainhthu maachchu.”

“Let me say about the five types of mercury. Listen. They are rasam, rasenthiran, paaratham, sootham, misaragam” said Bogar. Bogar had categorized mercury into five types depending upon the qualities of the mercury.

Mercury, a liquid metal, is one of the natural ore available from the Earth. It is made up of air and fluidity.

Generally we might have seen mercury in white colour. But they are available in red, yellow and pale blue colours. But these colour mercuries are rare varieties. According to Vaadha vaithiyam*, these rare mercuries are considered as one of the arsenic types. Since it consists of arsenic characteristics, Siththars also called it as “soodham”.

Mercury is used in many ways as rasa pathangam, rasa patpam, rasa sendhooram for medicinal purposes. When it is made into a hard solid ball, it is known as Rasamani*. The transformation of mercury into rasamani is just a part of alchemy. The process of separating fluid and air from mercury was secretly maintained and also kept as a secret. If we wear this Rasamani, it gives us more benefits. It helps to cure the paralysis, phlegm, bile and keeps the body function properly.'

Rasamani, naturally, have the grasping power and it absorbs the power of any material and reflects it. Hence people who wish to attain wisdom through the yogic way use Rasamani.

Mercury which posses many qualities and it gives us benefits in the way how we make the Rasamani. Siththars had said many methods to make the mercury into rasamani. The methods differ from easy level to hard level depending upon the Guru’s preaching. Siththars conveyed their experience of making the Rasamani to the people for their benefits.
