What is the religion of Siththars?

Author: தோழி / Labels: , ,

We people used to have a thought of that, sithars were all Tamils and belong to Hindu religion that too precisely we can say as Saivites. Might it be be true? Can we conceal them within these small credentials?

This post is just the curiousitical outcome of my thinking concerning, what will be the possible outcome when we approached in this path? That’s it.  However, I will not say it as an accurate answer for the above question. But, we may take it as the starting point of the search. I would be grateful to readers to notify me if there is anything wrong about my opinion in this regard.

Most of us believed Siththars are one who has gained wisdom clearing their mind and has realized their oneself. But, actually, this may be the outline explanation for defining Siththars. According to my knowledge, each and every Siththars are unique and are highly well beyond these types of boundarial restrictions.

The only thing which is common among them is the balanced vision on material world and they are apart from the common beliefs like, caste, tribe, religion, language, rituals. Hence, how can we restrict them to a single language, religion or community?

Sithalogy is one of the highly developed independent culture which has no bounds. Siththars are not only from the background of Hindu religion, there are lots of those highly cultured Siththars identified in various religions too and still believed to be living in this world. Definitely, they are not paranormal persons. However, they are people leading a very simple life. We will come to know them, only when we approach them through open mind without any preoccupancy.

The simple and common mistakes in this path may lead to the identifications like a person against religion and god and get into the just opposite path of atheism. It is to be clarified that, neither Siththars nor similar people from other religion distrusted or rebuffed the belief in god. However, we can say searching the true supremacy in their path might be correct phrase.

The path of searching usually includes understanding of self and surroundings along with realization of their natural existence through which the one can attain the stabilized higher knowledge. This path is structured with the guidance of guru. With the attainment of that higher level, Siththars were representatives of none and they never wanted to prioritize themselves primarily. This state is termed as the divinity.

Siththars used to ignore the religious organization but  will not deny the existence or nature of god. According to Siththar Pattinathaar, those who were not aware of the supremity hidden in oneself are poor.

onrenriru theivam undenriru
onraai uyiraai udalthoarum neeirunthum
enrum ariyaarkal aezhaikalthaam pooranamae.

Similarly, Siththar Thirumoolar says as below:

அகம் புகுந்தான் அடியேற்கு அருளாலே
akam pukunthaan adiyaerkku arulaalae
akam pukunthum theriyaan arul illoarkku.

However, Siththar Sivavaakkiyar further noted his intense thought as follows:

கோயில் பள்ளி ஏதடா குறித்துநின்று தேதடா
koayil palli aethadaa kuriththuninru thaethadaa
vaayinaal thozhuthuninra manthiranga laethadaa
jnanamaana palliyil nanmaiyaai vananginaal
kaayamaana palliyil kaanalaa miraiyaiyae.

The following poem of Siththar Thirumoolar also abides the same:

உடம்பினை முன்னம் இழுக்கென் றிருந்தேன்
udampinai munnam izukken rirunthaen
udampinuk kullae yuruporul kandaen
udampullae uththaman koayilkon daanenru
udampinai yaanirun thoampukinranae.

All the searches, clarification are the real treasures that we got in the search of survival of man in all part. Saving and eulogize those treasures is the perfect way of honoring them. Accepting love as their prime god and divinity, it will be perfect to call Siththars as people’s representatives rather than religion’s representative who devoted their life to welfare of the people.

Be proud in follow their path of humanitarian and love rather than in path of religion.

Stay tuned!!!

LOVE IS GOD….

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

‘One can see the god in the smile of poor’ is one of the famous quote of Tolstoy which means, when we help poor people with love and affection, it will definitely fill their heart and their gratitude flows in their face as beautiful smile. In that smile, one can see god. In this aspect, the quote of Leo Tolstoy gives out the truth of love to worldly people.

All religion believes in one thing; “love is god”. Even our Thirukural has its one separate topic named “anbudaimai” which depicts the importance of love. It is the gratefulness and pride of our ancestors, who were the first, told the importance of love to world.

Thirumoolar says the significance of love as follows:

அன்பு சிவம் இரண்டென்பர் அறிவிலார்
anbu sivam irandenpar arivilaar
anpae sivamaavathoru marikilaar.”

- திருமந்திரம் ( Thirumanthiram)

According to Thirumoolar, those who differentiate the love and god are brainless people; love and the blissful state of god are inseparable and he firmly says love is god.

Many people believe that, one can get the gracious blessing of god by tormenting the physical body and through long term meditation by ignoring the thirst and hunger. However Thirumoolar disagrees with the above practices and put forth the easy way of acquiring god’s affection in his poem as follows:

என்பே விறகா இறைச்சி யறுத்திட்டு
enbae virakaa iraichchi yaruththittup
ponpoal kanalil poriya varuppinum
anboadu uruki akam kuzhaivaark kanri
enpoal maniyinai eitha onnaathae.

(Thirumanthiram)

One cannot reach the god by tormenting the physical body. However, one can easily reach the blissful state through the unconditional love.

Further, Thirumoolar noted the type of people on whom god shows his graciousness and love which can be inferred from following poem quote as follows:

“கொழுந்து அன்பு செய்து கூரவல்லார்க்கு
kozhunthu anbu seithu kooravallaarkku
makizhnthu anbu seyyum arul saathu aakumae”

- திருமந்திரம் ( Thirumanthiram)

Thirumoolar says that, people who show their care and affection to all type and form of living organism can get the love of god. Showing your care and love on another life is the easy way of getting god’s grace and blessings.

Nowadays, whole world rejoice the quote of Tolstoy. However, our ancestors told this truth several decades ago, even before Tolstoy. But the fact is how many of us remind their words or walk along the path of their words!?  I will leave this part to reader’s decision itself.

Let us see another new topic in the upcoming post.

Transferring of one’s soul into another body - 02

Author: தோழி / Labels: , ,

In previous post, we have seen that the process of leaving the soul from the body and joining in the same body or joining in the other body involves two steps viz: ‘the state of not leaving the body’ and ‘transferring of one’s soul into another body’. This art is also called as ‘parakaya pravesha’. On completing the first step, one can go to next step.

In deathless death state, all function of body becomes minimized with slow breathing. To achieve this stage, human body requires vigorous series of practices which is of two types. One type is of achieving kaya siddhi by eating kaya kalpa and another thing is achieving superior yoga siddhi by yogic practices. On practicing the above said procedures, one can achieve the deathless death state. However, recent scientific researches completely abandon or refuse to accept the possibility of above said stage.

Hence, marking the body to necessary stage/position is the first step of this art. Since, the body has to remain safe and healthy till soul resides back to body. That is why they secretly hidden their body in tree hole, forest, caves, etc,. If anything happened like destruction occurs to this body, one has to maintain or build up the freshly achieved body to certain structure by eating kaya kalpa. The information, we can found in Karuvoorar’s book titled ‘Karuvorrar Vaatha Kaaviyam’.

However, it is also a difficult thing to destroy the body which attains yoga siddhi and kaya siddhi. Siththar Thirumoolar, leaves his body and reside his soul to Samuthira Rajan, a king’s body and he was enjoying the family practice. On this occasion, one day he told all his secret past story to his wife and also told the location of his original body. Wife on hearing this, she thought that the original old body might be a hindrance to her happy family life. So, she asked the King (now Thirumoolar), the way of destroying the original body. King told the secret due to his affection on her. Queen, then sent her servant to destroy the original body of the Thirumoolar. Using the medicinal procedures, the servant destroyed that body. The above information is found from Karuvoorar’s poem as follows:

Hence, we may infer the deathless death state as the art of keeping the body strong and aligning the bodily functions in series. So that, one can make the function start and stop at desired time. On excelling in this stage, one can get undestroyable healthy body. However, further research on this regard may reveal the mystical information about anatomy and the human lifetime pages. Hence, interested person may search on this regard.

We can see the information and background concerning Siththar’s transferring of one’s soul into another body In the upcoming post.

Kundalini…. Intricacy of Naadis!!

Author: தோழி / Labels: , ,

Till now we have seen about the naadis which resembles the lotus petals emerging out from basic power energy centers. As I said in course of Kundalini series, I am going to share about the intricacy of naadis.

During Kundalini yoga, we have seen that the four petals emerges from muladhara, 6 petals from svadhishthana, 10 petals from manipura, 12 petals from anahata, 16 petals from vishuddha and 2 petals from ajna. On vibration of these naadis, there comes resonance too which is also discussed previously.

In sithalogy, panchaakara letters has its own significance which is minute and has  intricacy too. Panchaakara refers to 51 Tamil letters. These letters are important naadi of Thiruvambala chakra alias “Chithambara Chakra”.

Starting from Agathiyar, many Siththars viz, Pattinaththaar, Sivavaakkiyar, Korakkar noted the significance of these 51 letters in their poems.

Thirumoolar in his “Thirumanthira maalai” noted as follows:

"பெறுதியில் அம்முதல் பேசும்க்ஷவ் வீறாய்
peruthiyil ammuthal paesumshav veeraai
arivathezhuththaimpath thonrumang kaanathae”

(Thirumoolar)

Again Thirumoolar in his book Thirumanthiram, noted the significance
of panchaakara letter as follows:

அடையும் மகாரத்தில் அந்தமாம் க்ஷவ்வும்
adaiyum makaaraththil anthamaam shavvum
adaivin ezhuthuaim paththonrum amarnthathae.

(Thirumoolar)

Arunagirinaathar too explains about panchaakara as follows:

"அகர முதலென உரைசெய் ஐம்பத்தோரட்சரமும்
akara muthalena uraisey aympaththoaratcharamum”

(Arunagirinaathar)

Similarly, we can quote as many Siththars poems for explaining the significance of panchaakara letters. According to this concept, these 51 letters were praised to be highly important and have its high level of uniqueness

Let us come to Kundalini again. Now you can remind that, in Kundalini yoga, resonance of naadis which emerge out from 7 energy centre were noted as Tamil letters.

Dear friends, in Kundalini yoga, Siththars noted that resonance during attainment of siddhi at every chakra as panchaakara letters. 50 naadis emerging out from 6 chakras along with the one silent letter emerge out at thuriyam chakra totally gives out 51 letters. Regarding this silent letter, I have discussed it in previous posts and this letter is also called as “Naayottu manthiram”.

It is the most significance and uniqueness of our Tamil language. On keeping this in mind, our ancestors told that, we will get good physical and mental health on good pronunciation of our Tamil language by uttering syllable correctly.   Unfortunately, we people are in the craze of western culture and leaving out the significance of our precious language.

P.S. : Readers can refresh the idea of Panchaakara letters from my previous post.

Human Anatomy in Siththars view

Author: தோழி / Labels:

The main success of allopathy medicine alias English medicine gains its popularity due its enormous growth in the human anatomical scientific approach. Still, other medicinal treatments depend on the allopathy’s anatomical sciences for curing the disease.

Anatomical science elaborately describes the structure of humans and animals and it is grouped into two types. The first type is called ‘macroscopic anatomy’, where the structure of the organs can be examined with the help of naked eye itself. And another type is called ‘microscopic anatomy’, where the structure of the parts is examined with the help of instrument called microscope.

The information might be little bit elaborative, since it is my field. Cheers! Leaving the allopathy treatmet, other treatments has its own view towards human anatomy. In this sense, Siththars gave detailed lecture on human anatomy, even in the period of no scientific or technological development. Let us see, what Siththars discussed about our human anatomy.

Human body is made up of 96 organs bundled up together. Of course! Let us see what Thirumoolar told in this regard;

"பூதங்கள் ஐந்தும் பொறியவை ஐந்துளும்
poothangal ainthum poriyavai ainthulum
aeetham padanjeythu irunthu puranilai
oathum malamkunam aakumaa thaaramodu
aathi avaththaik karuvithon nootraarae”

(Thirumoolar)

The basic of the Siddha medicine is having the in depth knowledge on 96 organs. If we know the basic nature, function and the properties of those organs, we can understand the greatness of the Siddha medicine. Then we can use this medicine effectively.

These 96 organs were divided into 20 types. I have omitted the corresponding poems considering  the length of the post.

Let us see the 20 types below:

Arivu
Iruvinai
Moovaasai
Anthakaranangal
Pancha poothangal
Pancha gnanenthiriyangal
Pancha kanmenthiriyangal
Pancha thanmaathiraikal
Pancha koasangal
Moondru mandalangal
Kunangal
Malangal
Pinikal
Aedanai
Aathaarangal
Avasthaikal
Thaathukkal
Raagangal
Dasa naadigal
Dasa vaayukkal

The above 20 types has the 96 organs, which controls the function of the body. Any change in any one of the above leads to ill health.

Let us see the detailed information about such important 96 organs in the upcoming post.

Rudraksha and Siththars

Author: தோழி / Labels: , ,

The rudrakshas have always been a symbol of the Siththars. Even now we identify  Siththar images with this rudrakshas only. We have found much information about the rudrakshas in the songs of the Siththars. If I should share all those informations here it will take another two weeks to share all of them. Hence I wish to share the songs of Agathiyar and Thirumoolar only.

Thirumoolar narrates the greatness of the rudrakshas in the following song. Let us know the greatness of the rudraksha by the following song.

"பூதி யணிவது சாதன மாதியிற்
poothi yanivathu saathana maathiyir
kaathani thaambira kundalang kandikai

oathi yavarkkum uruththira saathanan

(Thirumoolar)

"காதணி குண்டலம் கண்டிகை நாதமுன்
kaathani kundalam kandikai naathamun
oothunar sangam uyarkatti kapparai
oathumil paathukam yogantha aathanam
aethumil yogapat tamthandam eerainthae"

(Thirumoolar)

Agathiyar has also shared so much information about the rudraksha in his songs. Like wise in this post we are going to see one of the rarest information. We might have noticed that the people who have spiritual beliefs and those who are interested in god wear the rudraksha gosary.  Agathiyar says about the  rudraksha sizes and their desired formats to his disciples. The following is the song:

"துதிக்கவென்றால் புலத்தியனே இன்னங்கூர்வேன்

- அகத்தியர் (Agathiyar)

(Agathiyar)

(Agathiyar)

He says that he learnt the information from  Aswini devar  about the  rudraksha that should be worn while chanting mantra . All these rudrakshas shoud be six faced. The rosary tied with 32 rudrakshas has to be worn to the plaited hair, the rosary tied with 51 rudrakshas has to be worn around the neck, the rosary tied with 12 rudrakshas has to be worn to wrist and the garland with 16 rudrakshas has to be worn on the part above the elbow.

Next time when you notice a saint or Saivite monk, just  notice if they are wearing rudraksha as told by Agathiyar.

In the next post we shall see about the medicinal values of the rudrakshas.

State of Samadhi – An Introduction

Author: தோழி / Labels: , ,

Most of us believe that that the state of samadhi* is to remain with eyes closed and without any thoughts in mind. But samadhi = samam* + aadhi*, is a state which is equal to the state of the Supreme Being who is compared to the origin and the end or the state of the empty mind.

In other way the samadhi could be told as a state where we keep our eyes wide open, witnessing all that is happening in front of us, with an inner awareness and without the proud feeling of “me” or “mine”.

The same has been told by Thirumoolar in his Thirumantra in the following way.

"சமாதி யமாதியிற் றான்செல்லக் கூடும்
samaadhi yamaathiyir raansellak koodum
samaadhi yamaathiyir raanettuch siththi
samaadhi yamaathiyir ranginoark kanrae
samaadhi yamaathi thalaippadun thaanae"

(Thirumanthiram)

"சமாதிசெய் வார்க்குத் தகும்பல யோகஞ்
samaadhiseu vaarkkuth thagumpala yoaganj
samaadhikal vaendaam iraiyudan naekir
samaathithaa nillai thaanava naakir
samaadhiyil ettettuch siththiyum eithumae"

(Thirumanthiram)

This state is not possible for every one. The constant practice and blessings of the guru only can lead us to this state. Patanjali Siththar in his Patanjali book, ‘Patanjali yogam’ has very clearly mentioned about the eight stages that could help us to reach to the state of the samadhi. We can find those related posts  in this link.

Konganavar in his book “Konganavar Vaadhakaaviyam” has wrote about the samadhi state. He says that there are six types of samadhi states. They are,

Thaththuvalya Samadhi
Savikarpa Samadhi
Niruvikarpa Samadhi
Agandavirthi Samadhi
Sanjaara Samadhi
Aarooda Samadhi

In the upcoming posts we shall see about them in detail.

*Samam – Equality ; Aadhi – Origin
*Samadhi – Intense Yogic contemplation of becoming oneness with God

To get rid of the effects of the previous birth

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

Based on one’s actions, thoughts and ideas only the consequences are decided. We justify our actions saying that the situations forces to act that way. But the fact is that the surroundings and atmosphere is
only witness of the actions.

Since many years we have believed the tradition that the today’s birth is as a result of the actions and effects of our previous birth only. For those who did good, they face the good results in this birth and for those who did bad they face the bad consequences.  This only decides our birth, life, business, wealth, residing place, marriage life and food habits.

It is said that because of this only, if someone begins an action, he is facing the obstacles, blockages, failures, victory, disappointments and insults. Hence it is very clear that none of us can escape from facing the consequences of what we have done.

Thirumoolar says the method of how the sages protect themselves from getting affected by these consequences in the following way.

"தன்னை யறிந்திடும் தத்துவ ஞானிகள்
thannai yarinhthidum thaththuva gnanikal
munnai vinaiyin mudichchaai yavizhpavarkal
pinnai vinaiyaip pidiththu pisaivarkal
senniyin vaiththa sivanaru laaae"

(Thirumoolar)

The sages who realized themselves and realized their state will get rid of their consequence from previous birth by the thoughts of Lord Siva. They will also vanish the consequences they will get from their future actions by the same method. Thirumoolar says that gnanis do all these by the grace of the Lord Siva which they have in their minds.

Secret of the Thirumantra – Panchaakkara letters: 02

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

In the previous post we have seen about the introduction of the Panchaakkara letters and what those 51 letters are. Also we have seen that Thirmoolar told that those letters control the functioning of our body parts. Today I shall share about my understanding regarding to which body parts these letters govern and its philosophical notation.

Let us see the list that Thirumoolar told about the body parts which are governed by the panchaakkara letters.

Hair, fore head, right eye, left eye, right ear, left ear, right nostril, left nostril, right cheek, left cheek, upper lip, lower lip, tooth of upper jaw, tooth of lower jaw, chin, head, right hand, left hand, right foot, left foot, right rib, left rib, kulai (organs between the chest and stomach), lower abdomen, stomach, generative organs, testicle, mooladhara (pelvic plexus), anus, throat, left breast, right breast, right shoulder, crown of the head, agnjai, visudhi, anahata, manipura, swadhistana, thighs, knee, ankle, heart, tongue, spine, brain, urinary bladder, pelvic girdle, kidney, liver, skull and centre of the eye brows are the 51 parts mentioned by Thirumoolar.

The letters that correspond to the body parts has to be known through a guru only and hence I am not sharing it here. Those who does with proper practice and attained mature level only can share it, is a rule and hence I cannot reveal it fully. In future if I have got permission to do so, I will surely share them.

Now I shall just share the philosophical meaning behind these panchaakkara letters.

"மண்டலம் ஐந்து வரைகளுள் ஈர் ஆறு
mandalam ainthu varaikalul eer aaru
kondaadida nirkum kudikalum aaru enmar enmar
kandida nirkum karuththu naduvaaga
undu nilaavidum oadum pathaththaiyae"

(Thirumanthiram)

He says that our soul is being filled with five types of mandalams and twelve protectors. And there are six types of inhabitants and our body is monitored by eight maidens.

In this the five mandalams are earth mandalam, water mandalam, wind mandalam, fire mandalam, and sky mandalam referring to the panjapoothams.

The twelve protectors are Indra, Agni, Varuna, Vayu, Kubera, Aditya, Chandra, and Yama will protect all the eight directions. Along with them Ganapathy, Kumaran, Vayiravan, Durga also protects us. Hence altogether twelve of them protect us.

The six inhabitants within us refer to body, mouth, eye, nose, ear and mind.

The eight maidens who mind our body are Ananga Kusumai, Anga Megalai, Ananga Madhanai, Anga Madhana, Ananga Raegai, Anga Vaegini, Ananga Kusai, Anga Malini.

If one learns all these clearly and practice this panchaakkara letters then he will not have end at all. If he stands by this, the grace of God can be attained.

In next post I shall catch up with some other information.

(Thirumoolar)

Out of the Saiva thirumurai, thirumantra is the tenth Thirumurai. Out of the total twelve thirumurais, the first 9 are the words of praise, the tenth one thirumantra is the type of saaththiram*, eleventh is the type of prabandham* and twelfth is the puraanam* type. This thirumantra is the ancient book that exactly speaks about the words of the god and there is no exaggeration in saying that it highlights the fame of Tamil also.

As per my view the thirumantra is a book explains about the tricks to keep your body immortal by doing yoga, staying away from all the earthly pleasures, showing love to all the living beings and uniting ourselves with the lord Siva.

Most of the rare information that is hidden in this book has not been revealed yet. In this week I wish to share the songs which are of simple words in the way I understood. As per the words of Thirumoolar we have got this book with 3000 songs fully.

First let us see how the book is organized. The book is totally categorized into ten parts. The first part is named as “Paayiram” and the other nine parts are collectively called as “Tantras”.

Paayiram

This totlly comprises of 156 songs. These songs are again categorized into 13 types. They are kadavul vaazhththu (prayer song), Andhanar Ozhukkam, Arasaatchi murai, Avaiyadakam, Aranjeyyaan thiram, Aranjeyvaan thiram, Aagama sirappu, Aaguthi vaettal, Mummoorthigalin muraimai, Vaanach sirappu, Vaedhach siauppu, Guru parambarai and Thirumoolar saying about his history.

Taking the length of the post into consideration, I shall finish it up here and continue in the next post.

*Prabandham - a class of literary genres of various subject matters, lengths, metrical forms etc.

*Saaththiram - a treatise on theology, beliefs and practices

*Puraanam - ancient tale

(Thirumoolar)

Whatever you can give, give it without any partiality to everyone, this is only called as charity. Anything that wipes out the sorrow of other living beings is good only. This kind of charity has to be done with whole heart with same thought, action and words. By doing this kind of charity it takes an individual and his people to an higher level.

Also only giving away money and wealth alone is not charity, giving a bunch of grass to a hungry cow and praying to god by spreading an herb to god is also charity. Also talking with words which do not hurt others is also a kind of charity only says Thirumoolar.

A saying that has a great meaning with simpler words!!

Willingness to charity!!

Siththars and Vaishnavism

Author: தோழி / Labels: , , , ,

In an e-mail that I received, I was asked whether the Siththars have told anything about vaishnavas. Instead of replying to them through mail I thought of sharing the information here, so that it would be useful be useful to everyone.

Though Siththars lived as the essence of Lord Siva, they have told a lot about the Vaishnava gods like Lord Maha Vishnu, Lord Raama. Sivavaakkiyar has told about the greatness of Lord Rama in the following way.

"அந்தி காலம் உச்சி மூன்றும் ஆடுகின்ற தீர்த்தமும்
anthi kaalam uchchi moonrum aadukinra theerththamum
santhi tharp panangalum thabangalum, sebangalum
sinthaimaevu gnanamum thinam sebikkum manthiram
sinthai raama raama raama raama ennum naamamae”

Raama! Raama! If you keep chanting this, it is enough. No poojas, austerities and meditation are needed. Sivavaakkiyar says that by chanting the name of Lord Raama, we can get all the benefits that we get by doing things and also we get the results that could be attained by doing the holy bath in the morning, mid noon and evening.

Also he says the greatness of saying the name of Lord Raama in the following way.

"சதாவிடாமல் ஓதுவார் தமக்குநல்ல மந்திரம்
sathaavidaamal oathuvaar thamakkunalla manthiram
ithaamithaam iraama raama raama ennum naamamae"

Agathiyar says about the Vishnu Mohini form in the following way.

"பணியனையன் பாலாழி யமுர்தம் தனை
paniyanaiyan paalaazi yamurtham thanai
naerappaa pennuruvaai devarkkup padaiththaar
nigarillaa raatsatharkal pennaip paarththu
saarappaa mayangi ninra rasurarkakali loruvan"

"ஓம் நாராயணா என செபிப்போர் நமனையும் வெல்வர்
om narayana ena sebippoar namanaiyum velvar"

Like wise many other Siththars have also told about Thirumaal's greatness and the specialities of his avatars.

"சதாவிடாமல் ஓதுவார் தமக்குநல்ல மந்திரம்
sathaavidaamal oathuvaar thamakkunalla manthiram
ithaamithaam iraama raama raama ennum naamamae"

From this it is so obvious that though the Siththars pray to Lord Siva as prominent god they have also sang about the Vaishnava gods.

From now on I am going to write a topic that most of them were asking to write since I started writing about the Siththars.

God the Siththars prayed to!!

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

In Siththar genetics so far we have seen about the way of offering our prayers to the guru, as a sequence of it I wish to take you this topic next.

"ஓமெனும் ஓங்காரத்துள்ளே ஒரு மொழி
omenum oangaaraththullae oru mozhi
omenum oangaaraththullae oru azhagu
omenum ongaaraththullae pala paetham
omenum oangaaram onmuththi siththiyae!"

(Thirumoolar)

The superior guru to all of us is god only!! For those who has acheived and those who wanted to achieve, god is only the supreme guru. To make us realise about this we need a human guru.

After recognising a guru of that kind, yogic and wisdom practices has to be done with confidence, belief and full of dedication. Those who does with continuously only can attain perception. Like crushing the seed and getting oil, the body has to be strained and enlighten the soul. The Siththars have also enlightened the soul by physically straining themselves.

The Siththars who have attained this higher position has prayed to which god?

Did all the Siththars worship the same god?

There are many opinions about this. This is always been as a controversial topic only.

Irrespective of what others have told, based on the informations we got all the Siththars have worshipped to only one god. There is no Siththar who have attained theurgy without praying to that particular god. We can say this stubbornly.

Which god is that powerful and great?

Details in the next post.

Did the Gayatri mantra vanish? Or it was hidden? - 01

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

Mostly all of must be aware of this gayatri mantra. But this post is not about it, please read the title once again.

When we keep on repeating the same words or letters in a particular sequence continuously for many number of times then it turns into a power and protects the body and life of the one who chants it. This is the fundamental criteria of mantras.

Out of such mantras gayatri mantra is the superior one. The one who chants it will attain all good only. Also no bad things will come to them is the belief.

It is also told that those who chants the gayathri mantra, they will be relieved from all the sins they did through mind, speech and body and they will attain the supreme being. As it lead us to reach the most higher state of wisdom i.e., reaching the supreme being (Brahmam), this gayatri mantra is called as ‘Brahmopadhesam'.

Another example to quote about the greatness of the gayatri manta is that the situation in Bagavat Gita where Lord Krishna has told the following:“In Vedas, I am living as the gayathri”.

Such a great gayatri mantra has been given to the world by Saint Viswamitra. He is the one with a great fame. In Gayatri mantra, kaayam (Gaya) refers to body, thiri (tri) refers to the tip of a lamp which means he has attained a body that brightly looks like a lamp. Due to the gayatri mantra and by worshipping of the Lordess Gayatri, mother of Vedas, Viswamitra attained all the theurgies and got the title as Brahmarishi. This is the gayatri mantra told by Viswamitra and it is told in Sanskrit.

"ஓம் பூர்: புவ: ஸுவ:
om poor: buva: suva:
thath savithur varaenyam
pargo devasya theemahi
thiyo: yoana: prasoathayaath"

Thirumoolar has told about this gayatri mantra in Tamil.

"காயத்திரியே கருது சாவித்திரி
kaayaththiriyae karuthu saaviththiri
aaitharkuvappavar manthiramaangunni
naeyaththaerraeri ninaivutru naeyaththaai
maayaththul thoayaa maraiyoarkal thaamae!"

(Thirumoolar)

Here begins the controversy. Almost all the Siththars have told all the mantras in Tamil. If that is the case, the gayatri mantra told by Thirumoolar is the one told in sanskrit? Did Siththars define a different gayatri mantra for themselves? For further details wait till the next post.

Mantra Yoga - "Panchathasaatchari"

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

In the episode of the mantras, in the list of mantras told so far the most special and the mantra told by the Siththars to their disciples in a secret way is the panchathasaatchari mantra. I will share certain information about it in this post.

As this mantra consists of fifteen letters it is told as panchathasaatchari mantra.

This mantra is being told only through the gurus. The Siththars have also told it in their songs with the actual meaning hidden in it.

"சுகாராதியோ ரைந்துங் கானிய பொன்மை
sugaaraathiyoa rainthung kaaniya ponmai
agaraathi yoaraa raththamae poalum vaakpavam
sagaraathi yoar naankum thaan suththa venmai
sugaaraathi mooviththai kaaviya muththiyae"

(Thirumoolar)

says Thirumoolar in his Thirumanthiram.

Five Sugaraathi:- ka, ae, ee, la, hreem
Six Agaraathi:- ae, ha, Sa, ka, ka, hreem
Four Sagaraathi:- Sa, ka, la, hreem

The three tricks refers to three halls. They are Vakbava hall, Kaamaraja hall, Sakthi hall. These three halls are represented by three colours. Those are gold, red and white respectively says Thirumoolar.

With these letters only the panchatha saatchari mantra is formed. Those who chant this mantra or worship it through the Bhuvaneshwari chakra, they could attain whatever they pray and also attain ashta maha siddhis says Agathiyar. But he also had sung this song with the meaning hidden in it only.

Those who have got the blessings of the guru, and attempts to search with hope could only find this mantra. I also cannot share it right now, hope you can understand my situation.

The greatness of this mantra is told is also said in Aanandha Lahari.

With this I shall wind up the series of mantra yoga. I will try to share about it in another situation.

In the next coming posts I shall share the information about the Alchemy told by the Siththars. In that I shall also share my own experiences.

Mantra Yoga - "Sakthi Beejam"

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

Worshipping to the mother or the sakthi is the ancient and powerful way of worship. Such a powerful mantra is the "Hreem" mantra i.e., the Beeja mantra says Thirumoolar.

Like the pranava mantra this "Hreem" mantra also has a great speciality.

"ஓங்காரி யென்பா ளவளொரு பெண்பிள்ளை
oangaari yenpaa lavaloru penpillai
neengaatha pachchai niraththai yudaiyaval
aangaari yaagiyae aivaraip petritu
 reengaarath thullae yiniththi runthaalae"

(Thirumoolar)

The devi in green color, in the form of pranava when she attempted to create the operations of the pancha krithyam*,  she created Sadhaasivaa, Maheswaran, Rudhran, Vishnu, Brahma as her own feature and after this she appeared in the"Hreem" beejam says Thirumoolar.

"ih+ir+ee+im = Hreem" refers to siva beejam, agni beejam, maha maya, pure maya. It is the form of the Easwari of the world i.e., Bhuvaneswari.

The "Hreem" mantra has to be kept in mind and without diverting the mind and with full concentration,  we could realise the present, past, future and win the death and could live immortal says Thirumoolar.

He also adds that while chanting this "Hreem" mantra the word "ih" in , "ir" in heart, "ee" in between the eyebrows and "im" in head has to be meditated. If it does done like this then the the Ashta Maha Siddhi could be attained.

Hence for the worship of goddess this "Hreem" mantra is most suitable and most honourable. You can get the guidance through a guru and get benefited.

In the next post we shall see about the panchathasaatchari mantra that has been maintained as a secret by the Siththars.

Mantra Yoga - "Panchatcharam"

Author: தோழி / Labels: , ,

Panchatcharam means made of five letters. It is the "Namasivaya (na-ma-si-va-ya)".

In that word, Na refers to the earth, Ma refers to the water, Si refers to the fire, Va refers to the air, Ya refers to the sky.

Swathishtana, Manipuraga, Anagadha, Visuthi, Agnjai all these are dynamic centres which are nerve-plexuses in the body. All these corresponds to the panchapoothas* says Thirumoolar.
