Rudraksha rosary chant relieves from sin

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

People born in earth, spent their considerable amount of time and wealth to erase their sin and to add virtue by one way or another. Almost no one is exemption for this.

Attaining sin or virtue all depends on our thoughts, ideas and actions. Those who realize this will avoid the sin and attempt to attain virtue. Agathiyar has also told about a way of getting rid of all the sins that we have committed. I am sharing this information at this point of time because Agthiyar has mentioned that method when he talks about the glory of rudraksha.

Let us see about this method in the words of Agathiyar.

"நேரப்பா தேகசுத்தி நன்றாய்ச் செய்து
naerappaa thaekasuththi nanraaich seythu
sivasivaa venru thiruneerupoosi
vadakizhakku mugamaaga irunthukondu
pakkuvamaai ruththiraatchang kaiyilvaangi
vinnappaa thaannoakki nayamavasiyenru
virumbiyae latchamuruvae seithaal
panniyathoar paavamellaam mainthaamainthaa
paruthikanda panipoalae parakkunthaanae"

(Agathiyar)

After taking bath cleanly, apply vibhoodhi* all over the body by chanting the siva mantra. Then take the rudraksha rosary in hand and sit facing the north east direction. Now see the sky and chant “Nayamavasi” by rotating the rudraksha rosary a lakh times. By doing this all our sins gets washed away like the snow that gets melted when the sun rays hits it.

Isn’t it a simple way? Try doing this.

Attaining success in our actions by Rudraksha chant!

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

All of us expect that we should attain success easily in all that we do. But it is not possible for everyone. There might be so many reasons behind this. Though we believe that hardwork and persistence would lead to success,  Agathiyar says about a chant to help in attaining success.

Agathiyar says the following song to his disciple Pulathiyar.

"உரையான உலகத்தோர் செபங்கள் செய்ய
uraiyaana ulakaththoar sebpngal seyya
uraikkiroam Pulaththiyanae unmaiyaaga
maraiyaana sepamanithaan sollakkaelu
manitharkali lashtathozhilaadu voarkku
karaiyaana vasiyamadaa vaalaivaalai
kanmaniyae ruththiraatcha maniyaekaelu
araiyaana nootriyettu manthaanaakum
appanae aarumuka mirukkach seyyae."

(Agathiyar)

"செய்யப்பா செகப்பு நூல்பட்டதாகும்
seyyappaa sekappu noolpaddathaakum
seyalaana yizaiyaaru murukki neethaan
uyappaa ruththiraatcha maniyathanirkoarththu
ohoho letchamuru vasiyanjseythaal
ayyappaa ashtavasiyan thaanaakum
arulinoam vasiyamani adaivaakaththaan
naiyappaa vasiya mennaal sollappoamoa
naavathanaal solvatharku vaayillaiyae."

(Agathiyar)

We should make a rosary with 108 rudrakshas which have six faces. To make this rosary, we should use a thick red colored thread made out of silk. With this rosary we should chant the vasiya  moola mantra a lakh times. This would yield success to anyone who is doing business in this world. Either men or women can get benefitted out of this mantra.

The vasiya moola mantra is..

OM YANAMASIVA ARI OM AIYUM KILIYUM SWAHA

In the next post we shall see about the rudraksha rosary that relieves from sin.

Rudraksha! Chants! Guise as Lord Siva!

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

In the previous post we have seen the purpose of doing chants and its importance as told by Agathiyar. Also we have seen that when those chants are done with the rosary and it would yield the best results. We have also seen that if we do these chants without failing everyday with concentration, then we would get the results in an easier way.

Agathiyar has told about how these chants are to be done in his book “Vaadha sowmiyam”. As per that the person doing the chants should be seated in a silent and pure place. He says that places like temple, mountain peaks and caves would be the right place for this. Because these places have less noise. He has also mentioned about the clothes to be worn while doing the chants. He named it as “Siva vedam” (Guise as Siva). He narrates the same in the following way.

"ஊணடாசிவவேட மார்க்கந் தன்னை
oonadaasivaveda maarkkan thannai
uruthiyaai sollukiraen unakkaai mainthaa
kaanadaa jepamathalai anbaththonru
kanakkaaka ruthraatchang kaiyilaenthu
thaanadaa yogathendu alavai kaelu
thanathaana aniviral muppaththirandu
paenada alavaagach seythukondu
paeniyae kaithanilae eduththuk kollae."

(Agathiyar)

"கொள்ளடா விபூதி உத்தளமாய்ப்பூசி
kolladaa vibhoodhi uththalamaaippoosi
konda pinbu vaettiyuda alavaik kaelu
nalladaa akalamathu moonru muzamaakum
nalamaana neelamathu aaru muzhamaakum
ulladaa peenanjaan akalang kootti
uththamanae neelamathu naal saanaakum
alladaa kaaviyilae neerkkaaviyaakum
arakaraa sivaveda makimaithaanae."/

(Agathiyar)

He says that we should wear a dhothi of orange color which is of six span lengths and three span of width and a loin-cloth which is of same color with four spans of length and one span of width. Then we should use a rosary made out of fifty one rudrakshas and yoga thandam* of 32 virarkadai* long. We should apply vibhoodhi* all over the body then this is called as “Siva vedam”.

He says that this “Siva vedam” best suites for all the chants. He says that any chant done with this guise as Siva and with the rosary will serve the purpose for sure.  He says that these kinds of chants are most powerful.

In the next post we shall see about the enchantment trick that helps in attaining success in the business and attaining all that we think by using the rosary.

*Thandam – Y shaped arm-rest used by ascetics
*Virarkadai -  a measure of length equal to a finger’s breadth
*Vibhoodhi - the sacred ashes (used for Saivite mark)

Rudraksha and chants

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

The combination of certain set of words and repeating the same to number of times are known as chanting. This way of chanting is followed in all the religions. Even the Siththars have told about the importance of chanting in their songs.

Hence the chanting is a way of reaching to god or the power that is superior to us. This is beyond all the constraints like religions, caste and language. Any chanting done with lot of concentration will always yield the best results. Agathiyar has told about these prayers in his book “Vaadha sowmiyam” in the following way.

"செய்யப்பா செபமதுதான் தினமுஞ்செய்தால்
seyyappaa sebamathuthaan thinamunjseythaal
sivasivaa aathaaranj siththiyaakum
meyyappaa kabamathuvum vilakippoakum
vethaanhtham siththaanhtham meyyulthangum
maiyappaa suzhithanil vaasiyaerum
mainthanae attaangam thittamaakum
poyyappaa poakaathu thannaippaaru
pooranamum kaaranamum porunhthumpaarae”

(Agathiyar)

"பாராய்நீ புலத்தியமா முனியேயப்பா
paaraaynee Pulaththiyamaa muniyaeyappaa
pathivaakas sepathavangal seyvatharku
paeraagas sollukiraen mainthaakaelu
nisamaana maniyeduththu sepamaeseyya
pilamaana ruththiraakkam meththananru
vinnaana siththiyellaam thaanperavae
niththiyamum nilaiyarinthu suththamaaga
naemamudan thavaraamal sepamaeseyyae”

(Agathiyar)

If we continue to chant everyday, the seven chakras will be awaken. Also you will lose phlegm and also Vedanthas and Siddhanthas will reside in your body. The person who does this will rise the vaasi to suzhimunai and attain a body that could not be destroyed and will also a completion and mind will be constituted. To do chanting, using the rudraksha is the best way for yielding the better results.

By doing chanting with rudrakshas, we can attain the results in an easier way. Hence he says that we should clean ourselves ad do chant everyday using the rudraksha

But how do we do the chanting with the rudraksha is the next question. Agathiyar has answered this too. He says that doing chants by dressing like lord Siva will yield the best outcome.
How do we dress like lord Siva? We shall see the answer in the next post.

Rudraksha and its medicinal values

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

The tree which gives the rudraksha is a species of a medicinal herb. These are used as medicines in the Siddha medicine. I am going to share only the rrest information.

In the previous posts we have seen that the rudraksha comes from a fruit with hard shell and which is of dark blue in color. The part inside that shell is sour to taste. This juice can be used as a medicine for the Epilepsy. Also it yields good results for cough, bronchitis, nerve pain and migraine.

By wearing the single faced rudraksha, we can cure the asthma, bone diseases, knee pain, paralysis, and diseases related to eyes.

It is also told that by wearing the rudraksha with two faces we can cure the fire burns. Also those with lack of concentration stress and those without kids will get good results by wearing the two faced rudhrakshas.

By wearing the rudraksha with three faces the injuries caused by the weapons can be cured. It will also cause certain positive changes in those with inferiority complex and to those without positive thinking.

By wearing the four faced rudraksha we can get cured from cough and flow of blood will improve.

By wearing the rudhraksha with five faces we can get cured from the problems related to the heart and obesity can be cured.

By wearing the rudraksha with six faces we can get cured from the problems related to pregnancy, convulsion and speaking capabilities.

By wearing the rudraksha with seven faces we can get cured from the problems related to legs and breathing problems.

By wearing the rudraksha with eight faces we can get cured from the problems related to stomach and skin.

By wearing the rudraksha with nine faces we can attain self confidence and good health.

By wearing the rudraksha with ten faces we can get the strong mind.

Naturally the rudrakshas has got a capacity of absorbing the surrounding temperature and lowering them. Hence by wearing this, body will remain cool. This might be the reason that the ancient sages and monks were wearing them.

If we soak the rudraksha in the drinking water and then drink that water then the high blood pressure can be brought into control. For fever if we rub the old rudraksha with honey and give it will cure the fevers that have not been cured since many days. Also if we dip this rudraksha in water and add turmeric to that water and consume it then the cough and vomit of any kind will be cured.

Rudraksha and Siththars

Author: தோழி / Labels: , ,

The rudrakshas have always been a symbol of the Siththars. Even now we identify  Siththar images with this rudrakshas only. We have found much information about the rudrakshas in the songs of the Siththars. If I should share all those informations here it will take another two weeks to share all of them. Hence I wish to share the songs of Agathiyar and Thirumoolar only.

Thirumoolar narrates the greatness of the rudrakshas in the following song. Let us know the greatness of the rudraksha by the following song.

"பூதி யணிவது சாதன மாதியிற்
poothi yanivathu saathana maathiyir
kaathani thaambira kundalang kandikai
oathi yavarkkum uruththira saathanan
theethil sivayogi saathanan thaeril"

(Thirumoolar)

"காதணி குண்டலம் கண்டிகை நாதமுன்
kaathani kundalam kandikai naathamun
oothunar sangam uyarkatti kapparai
oathumil paathukam yogantha aathanam
aethumil yogapat tamthandam eerainthae"

(Thirumoolar)

Agathiyar has also shared so much information about the rudraksha in his songs. Like wise in this post we are going to see one of the rarest information. We might have noticed that the people who have spiritual beliefs and those who are interested in god wear the rudraksha gosary.  Agathiyar says about the  rudraksha sizes and their desired formats to his disciples. The following is the song:

"துதிக்கவென்றால் புலத்தியனே இன்னங்கூர்வேன்

- அகத்தியர் (Agathiyar)

"அட்டமாம் ருத்திராட்ச முழங்கைமேலே

- அகத்தியர் (Agathiyar)

He says that he learnt the information from  Aswini devar  about the  rudraksha that should be worn while chanting mantra . All these rudrakshas shoud be six faced. The rosary tied with 32 rudrakshas has to be worn to the plaited hair, the rosary tied with 51 rudrakshas has to be worn around the neck, the rosary tied with 12 rudrakshas has to be worn to wrist and the garland with 16 rudrakshas has to be worn on the part above the elbow.

Next time when you notice a saint or Saivite monk, just  notice if they are wearing rudraksha as told by Agathiyar.

In the next post we shall see about the medicinal values of the rudrakshas.

Rudraksha – Few rare informations

Author: தோழி / Labels:

The rudraksha is used for three kinds of purposes like wearing on the body, chanting rosary while doing some pooja or chanting mantra and also to put as an ornament on the statue of god. This rosary have to be made by using the identical rudrakshas. In most of the rudrakshas we can find the hole at the centre naturally. Hole is made only if they are not present naturally. This information might not be known to most of them.

People buy the certain kind of rudrakshas only by knowing their importance. Hence those are sold out for more prices also. Making use of this opportunity, some sellers make the fake rudrakshas that look identical to the real ones. These are mostly made out of plastic or sealing wax. We could not find the differences between the real and fake ones. Hence we need to be careful while buying the rudraksha.

There are certain easy ways to identify the real rudraksha. If we keep the rudraksha between two copper coins, then it will rotate.  Also if we drop the single faced rudraksha in flowing water, it will run in the opposite direction. All the rudraksha except the four faced one will float in the water. Apart from this there are many other methods too.

Each one of the rudraksha has its own unique energy layer. Because of this only it has been told that the rudraksha should not touch each other. To separate them from each other we should tie a knot in between them. There are three kinds of knots in usage. We should observe them and buy.

These knots are called as Naagapaasam, Savithri, Brahmakiranthi. Based on the need of the rosary, the type of the knot varies. After putting all these together the ends of the rosary has to be tied. And at that point another rudraksha is tied. It is called as “Naayaga mani” or “Meru mani”.

While chanting the mantras using these rosary, the mantras get additional power. It has to be kept straight to the navel during the mornings, it has to be kept straight to the chest in the afternoon and it has to be kept straight to the nose in the evening times and chanted. Only by doing this, we can attain the results. Keeping the rudraksha rosary in hand and by chanting mantra at the mountain peaks, shore of the rivers, forests, caves, and near the samadhis of saints or Siththars, we will get the better effects. This rudraksha rosary can be worn by everyone.

In the next post we shall see about the details about the information that the Siththars have told about the rudrakshas.

Rudraksha – Size and types

Author: தோழி / Labels:

The seeds of the rudraksha tree is taken, washed and dried. Based on their sixes they are categorized for various uses. The size varies based on the temperature, type of tree, age of the tree and the growth of the fruit. Generally the seeds would be in pale black or reddish pale brown.

The outer surface of the rudraksha is uneven but has got strong ups and downs. If we notice them deeply we can find that there would be a line travelling from the top to the bottom. That slit is recognized as the face. Based on the age and growth of these rudraksha, the slits occur. We can find rudrakshas varying from 1 to 21 faces. 95% of the rudrakshas would be possessing 5 to 6 faces only.

The weight of this rudraksha depends based on the depth and the distance between the faces. If the face is closer it would be heavier and if the faces are located far from each other then they would be light weight. This kind of light weighted pearls will float in the water.

A very rare kind of the rudraksha would have two faces attached to each other and would contain no faces on them. This kind of pearls is called as “Gowri Sankar”. The pearls with only face would look like an incompletely grown one. The rudraksha with one, two and three faces would be the most rarest and most powerful kind of rudraksha.

Based on the size of the rudraksha, they are categorized into three. They are gooseberry sized rudraksha, jujube sized pearl and peanut sized pearls. The gooseberry sized rudraksha gives the complete effects, the jujube sized rudraksha causes medium level of effects and the peanut sized pearls gives low level of effects.

Generally these are tied up like a rosary and used. Either thread or metal strips is used to join the rudrakshas. There are various methods to tie up these garlands. These garlands are made with four different counts of the rudrakshas like 1, 27, 54, and 108. While tying them into garlands we should make it a point that all the rudhrakshas contain similar kind of faces. But those who make the garlands for commercial purposes do not note all these points.

While tying them as a garland rudrakshas should not touch to each other.

We shall see about the reason behind this in the next post.

Rudraksha – An introduction

Author: தோழி / Labels:

Just think what are all the things that come to your mind on the moment you think about the rudraksha. It will definitely be renunciation, sages, saints, simplicity, rosary, spiritualism, health, medicine and sorceries etc.

Ruthiraaksham, uruthiarakkam are the various names that the rudraksha has got. We have heard various opinions and beliefs about them. In the puranas*, there are so many exaggerated informations narrating the greatness of the rudraksha. Apart from all those informantions I am going to share certain rare information about the rudraksha and the information told by the Siththars in their songs.

In the northern language the word rudraksha refers to the “eyes of the rudhran”. Rudhran referes to lord Siva. This rudraksha is a seed that is obtained from a fruit of a tree named “ganitrus”. This tree is seen only in certain parts of the world. This tree is found in foot of Himalayan Mountains, valley of the Ganges, Australia and Malaysia. It is said that there are 90 varieties of this species. Out of them 25 varieties are found in countries like India and Nepal.

This tree can grow upto 80 feet height. In Tamilnadu, we can find them in certain regions like palani and nilgiri. In kerala in the parts of thiruvangoor and in Karnataka we can find in the regions of Mysore. The fruits of this tree will be in blue mixed with blackish color or dark blue color with hard shell. The six inch leaves of this tree resembles like that of the leaves of the vaadha tree. If the fully grown leaves shed off then at that place flowers bloom. The flowers of this tree would be in white color.

Though the outer shell of the fruit is very hard to see, the inner part is filled up with the juice of sour taste. The seed that is present at the center of this fruits called as rudraksha. The rudraksha that is found in the Nepal is considered as the best one in the quality. The main market for these rudraksha is the city of Kaasi (Varanasi) present in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Naturally the rudraksha will be in a violet and black mixed brownish kind of color. Mostly the rudraksha that we find in the shops will be artificially added up with colors. That is the reason they look so bright. Also we can find the fake rudraksha that are made out of lac and plastic. I shall share the details about identifying the fake ones also at the end of this series about the rudraksha.

In the next post we shall see the details about the types and other details about the rudraksha.
