One of the unique techniques of the Siththars is Muppoo. Those who are expert in this only can do anything in the Alchemy. There is no exaggeration in telling that muppoo is the fundamental of the Alchemy.
Vasittar has told the same in the following way,
"அண்டரண்டம் நிறைந்த பொருள் முப்பூவப்பா
andarandam niraintha porul mupoovappaa
ஆறாப்பிணிகள் நீக்க ஒரு குருவுமாச்சு
aaraappinikal neekka oru kuruvumaachchu
அண்டரண்டம் நிறைந்த பொருள் தனைத் தொட்டு
andarandam niraintha porul thanaith thottu
ஆடலாம் வெகுகோடி வித்தை தன்னை
aadalaam vegukoadi viththai thannai
கண்ட கண்ட விதமாக உலகத் தோர்கள்
kanda kanda vithamaaga ulagath thoarkal
கருவறிந்து மருந்து செய்யத் தெரியாமற்றான்
karuvarinthu marunthu seyyath theriyaamatraan
கண்ட கண்ட மருந்துகளை தானே வாங்கி
kanda kanda marunthukalai thaanae vaangi
கடை கெட்டுப்போய் வீணாய் கலங்குவரே
kadai kettuppoay veenaai kalanguvarae."
For human to learn the yoga, a guru is most needed. Likewise to perform one crore (10000000) theurgies, to cure the uncurable diseases, to convert the human body as immortal, to convert the low grade metals into high grade metals, the muppoo is most needed.
"முப்பூ வதுலாகம் முடிந்ததொரு காரியமாம் என்னையா
muppoo vathulaagam mudinthathoru kaariyamaam ennaiyaa
அப்பூவை விட்டு அலைந்தால் வாதம் வருமோ
appoovai vittu alainthaal vaatham varumoa
தொட்டவிடம் பட்டவிடம் தொல்புவியும் பொன்னாகும் - என்னையா
thottavidam pattavidam tholpuviyum ponnaagum - ennaiyaa
பட்ட பகல் போலே பக்குவமாய் சொல்லி விட்டேன்
patta pagal poalae pakkuvamaai solli vittaen"
Like this the muppoo's greatness is told by Naadhanaadha Siththar.
The one who identifies the muppoo is the Siththar. For him the art of Alchemy and all will become simpler one. He will play with ashta maha siddhis.
This muppoo is the mixture of three types of salt. What those three types of salt are? There are difference of opinions among different researchers regarding the types. We shall see in our next post what the difference of opinion is.
