The method of muppoo taught by Agathiyar to his student Pulathiyar.
"சொல்கிறேன் புலத்தியனே முப்பூகாண
solkiraen Pulathiyanae muppookaana
சூடான நவச்சார லவண பூநீர் எடப்பா
soodaana navachchaara lavana pooneer edappaa
துடியான கல்லுப்பு எட்டுங் கொண்டு
thudiyaana kalluppu ettung kondu
ஊடவே அமுரிதனில் கலக்கிக்கொண்டு
oodavae amurithanil kalakkikkondu
உத்தமனே படிஎட்டுத் தெளிவை வாங்கு
uththamanae padiettuth thelivai vaangu
சாலவே காச்சி எடு ரவியில் போடு
saalavae kaachchi edu raviyil poadu
சாந்தமாய் திங்களில் வெண்மையாகும்
saanthamaai thingalil venmaiyaagum
வாடவே வேண்டன்கான் வதி சொன்னேன்
vaadavae vaendankaan vathi sonnaen
மகத்தான பெரியோர்க் கெய்தும் பாரே
magaththaana periyark keythum paarae"
In the muppu, the first salt is the pooneer, the second is pure rocksalt, the third one is the amuri. On adding all these three together and exposing it to sun and letting it dry leads to the formation of mooppu says Agathiyar. He also says that only great people could acheive it.
