In the previous post we have seen the sixteen types of darshan given by Agathiyar. Today, we will see the first type, aathara darshan.
The approaching and practicing techniques were given by Agathiyar as given below.
With guru’s blessings, one must try to focus and realize their stage through practice. If one understands the self, then mind will be aware of the divinity spread over the world and will sense eternity.
Now, we will see aathara darshan in Agathiyar’s words as follows;
ஊணவே வாசிதனை மூலந்தன்னில்
oonavae vaasithanai moolanthannil
ஓமென்று தானிறுத்தி உறுதிகொண்டு
omenru thaaniruththi uruthikondu
பேணவே யிங்கென்று மவுனம்பூட்டி
paenavae yingenru mavunampootti
பெருமையுள்ள ஓங்அங்சிவய நமவென்று
perumaiyulla oongangsivaya namavenru
தோணவே தினம்நூறு உருவேசெய்தால்
thoanavae thinamnooru uruvaeseithaal
சுத்தமுள்ள சுழினையிலே நந்திகாணும்
suththamulla suzhinaiyilae nanthikaanum
பூணவே நந்தியுட பிரகாசங் கண்டால்
Poonavae nanthiyuda pirakaasang kandaal
பொருந்திநின்ற ஆதாரஞ் சித்தியாமே.

ஆமப்பா ஆதாரஞ் சித்தியானால்
aamappaa aathaaranj siththiyaanaal
ஆதார தேவதைகள் அப்போகாணும்
aathaara devathaikal appoakaanum
ஓமப்பா வென்றபிரண வத்தினாலே
omappaa venrapiranava vaththinaalae
ஒளிவிளக்காய் நின்றதொரு சோதிகாணும்
olivilakkaai ninrathoru soathikaanum
வாமப்பால் நிறைந்த பூரணத்திலேதான்
vaamappaal niraintha pooranathilaethaan
மகத்தான சோதிபஞ்ச வர்ணமாக
makaththaana soathipanja varnamaaka
தாமப்பா தன்னிலையில் தானேகாணும்
thaamapaa thannilaiyil thaanekaanum
தண்மையுடன் கண்டதெல்லாம் சித்தியாமே.
thanmaiyudan kandathellaam siththiyaamae.
While being silently as ‘Ying’ and positioning the breath Om in mooladhara and chanting “Oang ang sivaya nama” continuously for 100 times in daily manner, one will get the radiance of Nandhi* in suzhimunai*. This is called Aathara Tharisanam.
If we attain siddhi in aathara darshan, we can see the principal deities of aathara darshan. While being alone, we can see the lightening streaks which resembles the flaming lamp, which is of panjavarna* colour. If we happened to see these lightening streaks, it denotes the attainment of siddhi in aathara darshan.
