In "Let us know about the rarest" series, the method of preparing the kaandharasam and making gold from it are told in the following songs taken from book 'Bogar 700'.

Take 35g of magnet that is capable of attracting seven different kinds of irons, put it in a mud pot and fill the pot with the juice of the Indigofera tinctoria plant and close it with a lid and keep it in a dark place where sunlight could not enter. Let it in the same place for three days and on the fourth day we find all the juice would have been absorbed by the magnet and take the magnet with the aid of iron forceps and keep it in a bowl and on hitting it, like ashes, the kaandharasam will fall into bowl. Collect and preserve it. This is called gaandharasam says Bogar.
Along with this gaandharasam add coal and borax and melting it leads to the formation of gold. On seeing such a simple method of making gold, do not get distracted. If you do not have sufficient amount to make kaya kalpa then follow this method to make small amount of gold says Bogar.
To prevent the desire of making gold pray to Lord Muruga in the morning and evening and keep this method of making kaandharasam and making gold out of it as a secret and remaining dumb is very good says Bogar.
