In his book, Bogar said that Roma Rishi was born to the father from Sembadava caste and mother from Kura caste. He was the disciple of Pusunda Munivar.
As Bogar had close connection with China, it was said to be that Roma Rishi had connection with Rome. Hence he was called as Roma Rishi.
When he stayed at Koondhalur near Kumbokonam, it was said that he brought gold from his beard.
“கால் வட்டம் தங்கி மதி அமுதப் பாலைக்
kaal vattam thangi mathi amutha paalai
கண்டு பசியாற்றி மண் சுவடு நீக்கி
kandu pasiyaatri man suvadu neeki
ஞால வட்டம் சித்தாடும் பெரியோர் பதம்
gnala vattam siththaadum peryoar patham
நம்பினதால் உரோமன் என்பேர் நாயன் தானே
nambinathaal Roman enper naayan thaane.”

Vagara sooshiram, naagaaroodam, Roma Rishi vaithiyam 1000, Roma Rishi sothida vilakkam, Roma Rishi kaaviyam 500, Roma rishi kurunool 50, Roma Rishi muppu soothiram, Roma Rishi irandadi 500, Roma Rishi peru nool 500, Roma Rishi gnanam, Roma Rishi pooja vithi, Roma Rishi vaithiya soothiram, Roma Rishi panjapatchi saathiram were books said to be written by him.
His sepulcher was said to be in Thirukailai.
