History tells that, paper was first invented by Chinese in 2nd century. We may come to know the existence and use of papers, only in 16 or 17th century, which is not clear to me. Suggestions and information in this regard are welcome.

Recently when I am going through the book named “Bogar Jaala Viththai”, I came across one poem which is more surprising and astonishing too. Yes, Bogar in his poem noted down information about paper that too making snack out of paper vessel.

Interesting right? Let us see the poem below:

தேரியதோர் பிரண்டதனை யரைத்துக் கொண்டு
thaeriythoar pirandathanai yaraiththuk kondu
thidamaana kaakithaththaar trennaiseithu
maariyae pinpuraththil moonrupoosal
mainthanae yularavaiththup poosivaangi
koariyae moonrukallai yaduppupoala
koottiyae thonnaiyathin maelaevaiththu
vaarappaa ennaiyathu kaainthupinpu
vadaipoali yathirasangal suttuvaangae.

(Bogar)

Bogar says that, take some hard paper and make it as a cup. Then grind the pirandai (Cissus quadrangularis) plant into paste and apply the paste on the paper cup and allow it to dry.  Repeat this procedure for three times.

Then take three stone and arrange it in such a way to make a stove then light the fire. Then place the prepared paper cup over the stone stove and fill the bowl with oil. Allow the oil to boil and then you can make dishes like vadai, boli, and athirasam, etc,.

Those having possibility can try this out!!
