During the period when there is no development of science, the Siththars have told about the problems and their solutions that women face during the period of pregnancy.

During the very first month since they attained pregnancy they may face sever stomach ache. The remedy for that is take the roots of lemon and sandal in equal measures and mix it with milk and drinking cures the stomach ache. If it is not cured even after having this then symplocos racemosa, rubia cordifolia , root of nymphaea alba mix all these three with milk and drinking cures the stomach ache.
During the third month if stomach ache occurs then mix cumin, lotus ring, kaempferia galanga, sandal with milk and grind it and consuming will relieve from the stomach ache.
During the fourth month if stomach ache occurs then mix roots of tribulus terrestris with , lotus, roots of nymphaea alba, sandal with cow's milk and consuming will relieve from the stomach ache.
During the fifth month the tormina pain occurs, for that sandal and roots of nymphaea alba must be added with cow's milk and consumed.
The stomach ache that occurs during the sixth month can be cured by taking grinding the wood apple juice with the roots of nymphaea alba and adding sugar and milk to it and consuming.
For the pain that occurs during the eighth month can be cured by grinding the andropogan moricatos, sandal, long pepper in milk.
Apart from this they have also told techniques to make the baby beautiful before it takes birth only.
