Till now we have seen the basic information regarding Kundalini like: What is called kundalini? Where it lies in the human body? How it looks like? What all it can do?
In next stage, let us see the process of escalating Kundalini, its working, effects and also the experience.
Before that, I request readers to kindly read this intermediate post. Since, I previously mentioned that 72000 naadis are in our human body, it is highly essential to know about this now.
Naadi, which is a Tamil word has direct meaning as naaduthal (searching), noakuthal (looking). As, it is looking for necessity of human body, it may be named as naadi. For explaining it further, we can correlate naadi with the nervous system of human body as per our modern science. Unlike nervous system, we cannot see these naadis with naked eyes and it only can be sensed.
Siththars says, human body is composed of 72000 naadis knotted together. With further explanation, we can say that: 7000 naadi in head, 2000 naadi in right eye, 2000 naadi in left eye, 3330 naadi in nose, 1500 naadi in right ear, 1500 naadi in left ear, 1000 naadis in back neck, 8000 naadis below the neck of back, 3680 naadis in back, 1000 naadis in throat, 8990 naadis in navel, 1500 naadis in right hand, 1500 naadis in left hand, 3000 naadis in hip ligament, 8000 naadis in between legs, 2000 naadis below bijam, 2000 naadis above bijam, 13000 naadis in kosam and 1000 naadis in ankle and so totally 72000 naadis.
Among these, Siththars noted 10 naadis as important one viz, pingalai, idangalai, suzhumunai, sikuvai, kaanthaari, purudan, aththi, alampudai, sangini and guru.
Pinkalai flows in right nostril, idankalai flows in left nostril, suzhumunai flows in between the nostrils, sikuvai in inner tongue, kaanthari in left eye, purudan in right eye, aththi in right ear, alampudai in left ear, sangini in genital organ and finally guru flows in anus.
Our Siththars says, our soul energy acts with the interconnected 72000 naadis. All these naadis combined and distributed themselves from seven centres. Siththar’s called these centres as “Aathara maiyyam”, means base centre. These seven pivot points activate our body which lies in between muladhara and thuriyam of head tip.
Kakapusandar explains it as follows;

1. Muladhara 2. Svadhishthana 3. Manipura 4. Anahata 5. Vishuddha 6. Ajna 7. Thuriyam are the base centres. These are placed in human body at 1. Moolam (between genital organ and anus), 2. Navel, 3. Upper abdomen, 4. Chest, 5. Throat, 6. Middle of eyebrows and 6. Tip of head respectively,.
Till now, we have seen about the naadis and the basic information about aathara maiyyam. As Kundalini have to pass through these energy base centres, it become essential to introduce this post here.
