Guru obeisance – Appearance of guru

Author: தோழி / Labels: ,

This is the most important of the series guru obeisance.

The one who does with pure soul and does without any expectation only can practise this. Those who practise with any other wrong intentions will surely leads to failure. The Siththars are the one who have been rid of all the family pleasures. They do not expect divine service or worship. They do not accept it also. But even today many of them tell that the practice of doing poojas by chanting the 1008 mantra is meant for the Siththars only.

Now let us see the method of praying to them.

In a room filled with purity and silence facing the east keep the picture of the Siththar you pray and keep a lamp in front of it. In a clean cup filled with water, keep it in front of it. Also keep a copper coin of 3mm thickness and 1 inch circumference in front of it.

Now spread a cloth in front of the Siththar’s photo and sit in the pose of padmasanam. Those who feel difficult to sit in that pose can sit normally. Relax the breath, body and remain in a state of silence. At this point I wish to remind about the moola mantra (respective to the Siththar in the photo) and chant it for 1008 times in mind only. This has to be done during the sunrise and sunset everyday.

In this pooja, certain things should be done with proper discipline. Every time before the start of the pooja the water in the cup should be filled freshly. At any cost praying by keeping fruits, flowers or any other food items should not be done. Also remember that the Siththars do not encourage the idol form of worship.

In this way whoever does the guru obesiance with lot of interest and pure soul they will get the blessing of the guru they worship at the earliest. Based on the severity of our attempt that Siththar will appear to us.

Those who really seek for the blessing of the guru for them this particlar method is a chance.

So far we have seen about the way of offering our prayers to the guru, in the further posts we shall see the gods the Siththars has worshipped.
