The Siththars have putforth all their researches regarding the astrology in books for the benefit of all the people, and to wipe off the sorrows of their disciples. They have organised in such a way that it could be predicted by the positioning of the planets in the sky and their status, positioning of the stars.
Among such books, the rarest and special book is the "Pulipaani Jodhidam 300" written by Pulipaani. In this book he has explained so many rare things. From this one can know what will happen in present, past and future of their life.
In the sky, the planets revolve around with sun at its centre. In the path these planets revolve, there are 27stars present. The path of these 27 stars are categorised as the 12 zodiac signs. They have categorized them into 120 features.
The moon will stay for an hour (2 1/4 naazhigai) in one sign. Based on the time of birth and the sun's position one's laknam* is identified and based on moon's postion the sign is identified.
In the practise of horoscope, the naazhigai is only put in practise. One day is eqal to 60 naazhikai, i.e., 24hours is equal to 60 naazhikai.
For each planet one day is dedicated. For ragu and kedhu no days were allocated. Based on the time span the planets travel only the days, thithi (lunar day), week, year are decided.
